Does a cell phone company decide to spend $50,000,000 for all the towers it needs in order to expand their service to a new city? With no guarantee anyone in that town will buy that company s cell phones?
Investing alot in a fledgling company.

non profits are set up not to make profits or they would not have the 501(C)3 status from IRSthey are charitable, educational or research type organizations for the benefit of either some named group, disease, or schoolall monies derived are to be used for the administration of the organization and the charity it was set up to helpno one in the organization is to derive any benefit from ithowever, there may be employees paid by the organization for their services
charities have to make a profit to stay in business... they are called non-profit because the money does not get taken out of the charity (thus no reported profit). All of the money that the charity makes and or raises must be used for the purpose of the charity. This is so that they do not have to pay income tax and othe legal issues.
Cause they have no other means of income. If they do something for profit it pretty much means there doing it for a charatable cause like feeding the hungry. If they feed the hungry they need the money to get the supplies. Hope this helps.
I think the best thing about a at home business is that you can save on traveling and can run upstairs and do things in your house if you have time! The bad thing is you might not get dress up because you think you at home and you ll start feeling lousy with yourself. But I still think that a at home business is a great thing to do! But one thing I mus tell you is important to advertise so people will know about it. When I opened my business I sent out lots of flyer s I actually got them printed from a online business called superfineprinting.com and it did bring me lots of business!
You just need to do your research on the biz and your overhead involved and what you need to run it-ie,certificates, licenses etc. Also check into the area you live in for the need and how much draw you will get in terms of customers. How much competition you might have etc. I do artwork for a living and teach classes out of my home studio. I sell paintings on commission and on Ebay. I also do murals 1-5 times a year on site. I make about an extra 6,000.00 a year doing this. I used to work full time but I am lucky and have a well earning husband. It just depends on you-all I am saying is just don t jump in the pool before you can swim. Make sure you know what you can write off too. Also, my studio is used exclusively for my art-I can write off the room-that portion of my mortgage-on my taxes. Just an example. Good Luck-

there are more advantages than any thing elsehowever verify that your local zoning rules allow for that type of business and that there is sufficient parking for your customers.
Any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party and/or may be trademarked so I wanted to go a different route...Here s a few things to keep in mind:1) Keep your industry, your clients/customers, your advertising plan in mind. 2) The more unique distinctive a name, the higher the chances that the name is legally available for use. And the higher the chances of obtaining the trademark.3) Think of your business as having a personality. What kind of image do you want your business to portray? Specific brainstorming tips:Think about what you want but more importantly, think about what you DON T want. If you don t want a 3-word name, don t bother with those. If you don t want non-English words, don t bother with those so on and so forth. What are the types of names you like? Think about words in their simple forms, e.g. adjectives, Latin roots, mythological names, etc. Compile a listing of the types then seek out resources, such as books or sites, which specialize in those types. Here are some links where you can do some preliminary name checking:http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=te -- USPTO C Preliminary Search of Federal trademarkshttp://www.statelocalgov.net/50states-se --Go to your state s Secretary of State page to see if they have a searchable database of business nameshttp://www.hoovers.com/free/ http://www.thomasnet.com C Must register (free) to search their databasehttp://www.nameboy.com C Domain name searchhttp://yellowpages.superpages.com/yp.adv C National yellow pages; leave location blank to search nationwide However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what s out there. Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free a great place to start, so I d try them out first. This entails searching the pending registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark. Hope that helps! I wish you much success happiness in all your ventures!
