Ok so me and my two friends are thinking about starting up our own doggy day care. Two of us are 16, and the other is 17. We know this is a serious commitment because taking care of a dog is a huge responsibility in itself. So before we start, i was wondering if the services/time/money we are going to offer is reasonable?Offering:Dog WalkingGroomingExerciseTrainingTimes:Weekends: Every other weekend from 12:00pm -5:00 pm (they can pick up their dogs whenever they like)Weekdays(reminder we are still all in school): 3:00 pm-6:00 pmCosts:We are going to charge based on the order. And Vet visits for doctor appointments?Oh - an idea is to snap pictures of the dogs, and after a few repeat visits, offer a free trinket, like a framed picture of the dog or a bookmark or something.The pricing seems VERY reasonable, which is good, but be sure to calculate all expenses so that you do not end up loosing most of the time. Have you thought about marketing? Your biggest competitors (indirect) would be Home Depot, Lowe s and local nurseries. These places often offer Do-It-Yourself classes and help potential customers cut you out. Other indirect competitors would be lawn care companies who dabble in small projects. Landscaping is like any other business, you HAVE to market ALL THE TIME! If you don t market market market and continue to market even after you have jobs you ll stagnate and die off.

Make sure you are properly presentable. If you are interviewing for a suit and tie type job then look the part. Make sure from top to bottom it is correct. If you can t handle the basics of presenting yourself then do you think I ll be impressed with your enthusiasm, education and experience? Those things don t shine as well if your fingernails are dirty or need to be clipped and your shoes need a shine. Trust me, how you look matters.
