How do I find a business broker for selling a business? -

I m entering year five of a small business I ve started. Gross sales $250K in 2009, net cash flow about $75K. Provable top 5 in the market. Startup plan was to sell after five years and I m itching to move on to the next project. I m an entrepreneur, not a manager, and I m ready to start planning my exit strategy. There are plenty of people who want to list the business, but how do I find the one who will maximize the value to me without leaving me personally exposed if the business fails to thrive under the new management? What questions do I need ask potential brokers to help me find the one ? Please don t take this as an opportunity to solicit or to make specific recommendations of brokers.

Contact your local/city chamber of commerce and ask if they can help you find a broker

Here s a question for your potential broker:Please give me the contact information for five people who are happy your brokered their businesses.

Is there any account software that is going to make the job of keeping the business books in order easier? -

at the moment i write everything into a ledger i know its old fashioned but it has worked for our business and me but now i need to put a real effort into these books so what is going to be quick and easy for me to use .( we are not vat registered)

I still use written ledgers and we are quite a large, vat registered company. I find it a lot easier to follow and easier to find any discrepancies. The only alternative that I would consider is Sage - but you would need some training for that.

If you re good with Excel, you can set up spreadsheets that work well. I ve done this for our companies for many years and we re VAT registered. I ve set them up in such a way that the VAT figures are easy to pick off at the end of the quarter.I know you re not VAT registered, I m just saying that you can do quite a lot with a spreadsheet rather than going into a software package that may or may not do what you want. If you ve worked with ledgers, you know what s needed from the spreadsheets. It s easy to put in a checking column to point up any discrepancies in your data entries.Talk with your accountant and ask what they d recommend. We just give ours the spreadsheets at the end of the financial year and they do the TPL and balance sheet from them.Good luck!

I m planning on trying the software from these guys http://www.diyaccounting.co.uk/index.htm which seems like good value compared with the likes of Sage.It s importing the data from the ledgers that takes the time with any accounting software; good luck!!

Where do I get health insurance for my small business? -

I only have 6 employees (including myself) right now. I wanted insurance for myself because as I get older, my body isn t getting stronger. But now I ve had a wide variety of health problems with my employees, and on some days I simply can t afford to be without them. Any advice from a small business owner with health insurance would help.

Well you can get small business health insurance from a wide variety of insurance companies. All you have to do is shop around. I think you meant where is the best place to get health insurance, and there is really no best answer. I recommend http://www.esmallbusinesshealthinsurance.com It is a website dedicated to, of course, small business health insurance. You can compare plans and rates directly from the company side by side. And with some of the companies, they offer customizable plans. Your best bet is to talk with an agent and see what can work for you.

The following site helps you customize an individual or small employer plan for health insurance including dental and vision if you want it. I have used it a couple of times and it worked out very well.http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ehi/AlliHope this helps!

Get in touch with Aetna or Aflac. They are both companies that offer affordable group health insurance options for small companies.

Hi,i have found this site to be usefull, just check this site

health-quotes.isgreat.org - here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.

LIC

Help Help I am doing an Enterprise and need ideas? -

Hi I have to setup a shop in my school for a day to make some profit but I don t have any idea what to sell please help give me some idea Its in the school so there is school rule not any thing dangerous

so... no guns, ammo, marijuana or pipes??? Bummer, man. Erasers - how about those? Perhaps the kids in YOUR school don t make mistakes, but people do need erasers and they re cheap to stock up on. Go to Staples and get three or for different kinds. That should satisfy your requirements.

What business franchises are both affordable and rewarding? -

When one thinks of a franchise business, it seems the usual suspects automatically fill the mind, such as Subway, Pizza Hut, and of course, that McBurger place. However, as a franchise consultant, many of the candidates I talk to have zero interest in that particular business model. Recently, the trend I am seeing is one that offers flexibility, limited and controlled hours, and businesses that offer lots of family time. Oh, and something that doesnt require a million dollars up front. Home-based franchises are very sought after these days. The question then becomes: are there really such franchises available that offer the above? The simple answer is yes. There are plenty of those types of opportunities out there in various categories. Once you have decided to pursue a franchise that is home-based, you need to become crystal clear on the other elements that your business must possess before you can effectively choose the perfect one for you, and my job is to assist you in clarifying this. Below are 5 hot franchise businesses that are home-based.Handyman and Remodeling. As we all know, the housing market isnt great right now. Increasingly, homeowners are choosing to remodel or expand their current home, so if youre familiar with, involved in, or passionate about the building and remodeling industry, there are several great opportunities available in this field that you should consider. Some require extensive construction experience. However, with others, your role would be that of sales and marketing, so the actual labor is performed by contractors you work closely with. Direct Marketing. Perhaps you have a special talent and a passion for marketing. You could run your own local marketing consulting company out of your home office. Your role would be to help local businesses succeed by providing integrated direct mail, online and mobile marketing solutions that help business owners target and retain more of the right customers. Home Improvement. Maybe you would enjoy making sales presentations to homeowners looking to replace their worn carpeting or to upgrade their window coverings. The Home Improvement market is huge and continues to grow, with Americans spending more money on remodeling, renovating and decorating than ever before. You can run this business easily from your home, using a specialized van as your marketing showcase on wheels. In many cases, this franchise category requires little if any experience, minimal staff, and a quick ramp up to profit. Not to mention a low investment requirement. Pet Care. Do you love pets? Did you know that there are some fantastic pet franchises that you can operate from a home office, like pet cleaning and grooming, as well as dog training? Automotive and Tools. Perhaps you are mechanically inclined or love automobiles. You could operate a mobile vehicle detailing franchise, where you would make house calls at local professional businesses to clean cars. Or maybe you know tools like Warren Buffet knows investing. How about a business to business tool franchise where you market specialized tools to automotive repair shops and professional technicians. You get the idea. There are numerous, well-established, successful franchise opportunities that cater to those individuals that want to operate their business from the comfort of their home office. A knowledgeable franchise consultant can work with you in identifying the specific criteria you are looking for in your perfect business.

Does west africa has a good business this time? -

I have never been doing business (export) with this country before and I have never been doing any business with this company before. But they asked me to send a proforma invoice of a product in a very big quantity and in a very big amount??? (more than $300000 first order, product is handicrafts). It made me confuse, I m in an export business for 9 years. Nothing easy (like this)... I wonder and not so sure about this customer from Togo.Do you have any idea? I a little worry it s about money laundering!!! or they are just a free samples hunter who will disappear after received some samples from me ... cause I asked them to pay for samples and they refuse but promise to transfer together with the 50% deposit. That is toooo... easy to get customer, too easy to get a buying order. Usually, customer would come visit before placing an order, they don t agree anything if they just don t have a benefit and they will not pay easily, even the amount is not so much (less than $ 10000). Customer who will pay me less than $10000, fly from europe to asia to check that I m exist to take a resposibity to their money and goods. But this case is too easy, too big amount... I think there must be something behind or in western africa business is going very good and prople are rich this time?

Some yes, some no
