What is the typical price to get a flower shop started. including all necessary stuff like the cooler for the flowers, display case, and all. i live in california. would appreciate it if you actually started your own shop but will appreciate estimates. i also need to know about how much the average shop makes monthly in sales. thanks this is for a class project.

Vending Machines in school Yes or No and why or why NOT? -

There are pros and cons to both sides of this issue. (Obviously, or it wouldn t be able to be debated)I think having food or drinks in a vending machine could be distracting for students in a middle school or high school. When I was in high school, we had machines for drinks, but not for food. I think this worked out well, as drinks in class are generally less distracting than food would be. There are some teachers that would prefer not to have any food or drink in their classroom, so having this available for purchase all day would be more of an issue for them.I like the idea of having vending machines for drinks, although if there are machines selling pop brought in, there should also be bottles of water and juice being sold so there are healthier alternatives. (Although not all juice is inherently healthy either, but that s another issue)At my school, we had a store that was run by a teacher and two students at a time that sold snack foods. It was only open during lunch time though, so there was a limited window of time each day that the candy, chips, gum, and other snacks were sold. While some students visited this everyday and bought their entire lunch here, most students would stop by for a sucker or a candy bar as a treat once in a while. I think this was a good idea for our school, as it allowed for some foods to be provided if students wanted them, but the items could only be purchased during lunch time. (Yes, we would have it in our bags for the afternoon or could save it for a later class, but it was not as distracting as having to wait in line during the break between classes to get something from a machine.

Hi, I can t answer your questions regarding UK taxation or registration laws but I would suggest you would be considered a hobby until you are pretty established. I have been buying and selling on ebay since 2001 and as a serious business since 2004. You didn t say if you are already familiar with ebay so I m assuming you aren t yet.1. Try buying a few things from ebay first - you will learn the ropes - searching, categories and build up some feedback. Without some feedback people will be very wary buying from you.2. Check out your competition on and off ebay to see what s selling and how much is it selling for. Half of everything listed on ebay does NOT sell first time around. 3. Factor in ebay listing fees (insertion) and final value fees into your profit/loss projection. You should also look at Paypal fees. I m in Australia but I list on the US site (more traffic) but I pay higher fees for the privilege. I also pay more for featured listings.4. I can t stress how important good photos are - absolutely essential - don t use another sellers photos if you are selling the same item. A well written, accurate description is also important. Think about how customers would search for your products. Use a spell checker - I ve scored some huge bargains because they listed with a spelling mistake.5. Find out mailing costs including a service with proof of delivery. If a customer doesn t get their package and you can t prove you sent it, you wear the cost. Very easy and only took about 3 hours to make.With regard to products, I found it better selling 7 - 12 high end pieces than 30 to 40 lower priced items. My pieces are hand made and unique which is a huge selling point - people are sick of seeing the same mass produced things wherever they go.I hope this doesn t put you off the idea.
