There are many good photographers that could easily sell their photos, but they really aren t interested in making money selling their photos. Their photos are for them and their friends and that is as far as they want to go. This is fine...check this out....

used to be a photographer used to make killer money doing peanut football teams and little league baseball. you do a couple of team photos and then run the kids thru doing the individual shots and put them in the cardboard cutouts. they cost about a buck a peice to make and i would charge 10 bucks and every parent wants one

The other issue is you need to keep your costs of materials down. Use the Goodwill resale model with this spin.You own a consignment store and you need product, right. Go to several local churches and coordinate a drop off point for clothes, handbags, shoes jewelry. Make a commitment to donate some percent of the proceeds back to the church that had the donation site and make a commitment that anything not sold will get donated to a local not for profit that specializes in getting people back on their feet. FYI-Goodwill does not give clothing to those that need it. They sell it to them.You could also go to garage sales on early Thursdays or early Fridays. Work a deal with one of the churches so you can say to the person having the garage sale you are looking for clothing donations for the church (or some other good cause). Tell them you can give then a receipt for anything they donate. Also tell them if they would like you would be happy to swing by at the end of their sale and pick up any of the clothing they want to get rid of at that point. Again, what you don t want you can re-donate so there is no waste!!! Here is the WIIFM (What s In It For Me):1. People mostly have garage or estate sales to get rid of stuff. The money is nice, but in the case of clothing they are looking for closet space. You are helping them!2. The congregation gets to empty their closet of things they no longer need and help their church at the same time as you are giving some part of the proceeds back to the donating church..3, The church has a new fund raiser without any effort and without the need fgor volunteers. You just pick one Sunday a month where you ar eon lite to pick up!You get free product for your store. If an item doesn t sell within your rotation (Check out Goodwill value village pricing and discount strategies and copy them. Both companies are very good retailers staffed by managers from Macy s, Fred Meyer. Wal Mart, etc and know what they are doing and are extremely good at it) If it sells you give some of the proceeds back and get a tax deduction for a cash charitable contribution. Maybe 10%? Given the purchase of product will cost you three or four times more than that you are getting a great deal.SWEET!

Not for anything of real value. Look at the big picture.... A house goes up for auction. There are many companies who watch and wait for this to happen. Their pockets go very deep so you can never out bid them. Any house that they feel has real value as a rental or being able to flip N sell, they will buy. They have a cut off point know when it is not worth it (so don t think you won if they stop). Now lets say there is one or two of value that slips through the cracks. You are going to have private people (like yourself) but with more money. Foreclosed properties can make money, but not for a fish out of water.

UPS tracking barely moved for 4 days!? -

I ordered something and was supposed to arrive by Monday. My package shipped on the 14th, and according to my tracking number, it moved up to a nearby city probably just a few minutes away, and it stayed there! For a whole 4 days!! This is the first time it happened and it s pretty annoying, considering Fedex and USPS are moving along just fine. Are there and grants available to start a franchise? -

I am wanting to know if there are any grants available to help fund opening a franchise? I know it may sound silly, but I am wanting to open a flip flop store in my hometown. The demand is there, and I have confidence it would be successful. The only problem is funding the opening of the store. I would take out a loan, but I have just went through a nasty divorce, and my credit has dropped from 750 to 540 in 6 months. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated:)

I don t think you want to open a franchise? I think you want to open a small self owned business with a flip flop supplier. The answer is yes, there are grants available from the government to open new businesses (not sure on franchises? don t think so) but the grants are usually reserved for minority owned businesses. however, another nice avenue might be looking at the grants available at the sba which stands for small business administration. I think there is definately a chance for you if you do your homework and I wish the the best of luck!

Even if you had a 700+ credit score, getting a small business loan in today s market is next to impossible and will cause you more stress and pain than your business every will.I would recommend developing your business plan and then finding the funding from private parties. I am trying to subscribe to a load posting site for transportation companies and have been repeatedly denied without cause. It seems to be an infringement of my rights. Am I wrong?

What rights? The only right involved in this situation is the right for the company to conduct its business. If it decides to deny its services to you for no reason, then you re just out of luck--you have no right to force them to do business with you.

The other posters are 99% right. If you can prove you were denied service because of your race, religion, sexual preference... then you could win a lawsuit against them. It could take 5-10 years and cost you thousands of dollars in legal fees but eventually they will post your ad.

You are wrong. Unless it s a publically owned facility, like a hospital, they can deny you services for any reason or no reason at all.
