How can I roughly estimate my taxes if Im starting a home-based business? -

I m considering a home-based business and I m wondering how the taxes will differ compared to my current salary, assuming all other elements are remaining the same. (Please note, I m not asking about the forms to use, how to submit tax information, or taking obscure deductions into consideration; I have already read up on all of these items.)I currently have a salary of $80,000. Based on what I actually bring home, roughly 35% of my paycheck currently goes to taxes (ridiculous, isn t it?). If I were to stop my corporate job and do a home-based business full time, what % increase or decrease could I expect in taxes for a sole proprietor that makes enough money to qualify as income. Again, I m not considering deductions like running a business out of my primary residence, business travel expenses, etc. I m strictly comparing taxes to taxes. It may not be possible as there are tons of factors to consider, but if anyone has insight, personal experience, or even a rough idea to guide me, that d be great!

As an employee you are paying 6.2% for Social Security and 1.45% for Medicare. Those will double when you become self employed, but the additional amount you pay is deductible for income tax purposes. As for your income tax there are too many variables to consider. The primary variable would be your income from the business. You do need to consider those deductions you call obscure , because they could be significant. In my business they are significant and make up for the extra FICA taxes I pay.

When you are self employed, you pay the employer s share of fica/mc, so our tax bill will go UP 7.65%.

Help i am in a mess with my financial books for our small business,? -

the problem is that i have not been carrying forward the total of each column. I never realised you had to i only found this out through a new accountant, i have no bookkeeping experience whatsoever i cant believe our current accountant never told us or even contacted us to have a word about bookkeeping i always presumed i was doing it alright. We are using the new accountant next year so iam stuck with carrying the balance through 12 months worth of books and i have to do it because the accounting bill will go down. The problem is i am not sure of what colunms i have to bring forward any advice would be appreciated.

Difficult not knowing what business you have. in the catering trade I had a large account book. At the top of each column I wrote. food, electric, gas, water rates, rent, wages, paye, etc.You put a date on the left and what you have paid under the appropriate column, when you come to the bottom of the page you add it up in pencil - just say Food 300, then transfer that figure to the top of the next page and carry on down to the bottom, and so on. At the end of the year you have the final figure without having to add up every page. Hope this makes sense.

I run a micro business and have no problems with bookkeeping. I keep monthly receipts in an envelope.Using the headings given by Inland Revenue i total all expenses for each heading for that month and record on the outside of the envelope. That is expenses. I also record income for that month, again under different headings if more than one source of income. Keep running totals. At the end of your tax year, deduct expenses from income and that is your profit (or loss)Feel free to come back for more info if required.

Your best bet instead of manually keeping track of information is to purchase a copy of Quickbooks Accounting program. This program is easy to use and easy to set up, it does most of the setup for you, however you would need to plug in your starting balances. You might also want to find an independent bookkeeper that would help set you up for a minimal cost.

You ll be surprised how easy it it to set up your business bookkeeping with QuickBooks, and to add your income and expenses weekly or more often, if necessary. Check your previous tax returns to find out if you owe additional tax because of your errors.

What can you tell me about the equal employment opportunity commission? -

You can find what you need at the EEOC web site http://www.eeoc.gov or the wikipedia entry on the EEOC at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EEOCThe U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is a federal agency whose goal is ending employment discrimination. The EEOC investigates discrimination complaints based on an individual s race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability and retaliation for reporting and/or opposing a discriminatory practice. The Commission is also tasked with filing suits on behalf of alleged victim(s) of discrimination against employers and as an adjudicatory for claims of discrimination brought against federal agencies.

What are some good Fundraisers for girlscoutsother than cookies ? -

I and one other girl in my troop are planning on going to costa Rica please help and state sites that we can go through to do these all suggestions are appreciated

Bikini Car wash. I would first research a neighborhood with a high concentration of sex offenders first, those most likely will be higher traffic areas for girl scout bikini car washes.

Try journals - There s a company called DoodlyCouch that offers workbooks and journals for all sorts of people - they have ones specifically for kids and teenagers, as well. These are drawing journals - so you draw out the answer to How do you feel today? instead of writing it. They sell the books on Amazon and on their website (www.DoodlyCouch.com), but they also have a fundraising program and they let you make money by selling their books, with no money up front and no minimum order. This is something you can even do just as an individual person - you don t have to be part of an organized group. You could combine this with something fun like an art contest and prizes maybe?

I have S corporation but I didnt do any bussiness yet, I dont have employees. Do I have to do the 941,940 ? -

No because there is nothing to report. The 941 is to report employment taxes, withholding amounts, deposit amounts, and amounts due to the IRS. The 940 is the Fed Unemployment Tax Return. If you start selling and begin paying yourself a salary then you are an employee and must file those forms. It s true that your S Corp doesn t pay Federal income tax but you do.The above assumes, however, that when you got your EIN/Taxpayer ID you did not indicate to the IRS that you would have employees by a given date. If you did, then they will mail you the forms for you to begin submitting to them on that expectation. If that s the case, call them and explain there are no employees and they will remove your company from the 940/941 radar. Do this before the forms are due.

Vending Machine Coin Trays? -

I just recently got a small table top snack vending machine, I am new to vending machines so I don t know much about them. Someone told me that I needed a coin tray before I could use it. Anyone know what that is and where I can find it?

The person who sold you the machine told you that? Is the type of machine where you stack up your quarters then turn the knob or do you put your coins into a single place and make a selection? In either case you should be able to put money in and test it out yourself, or see what may be missing. If there is something missing, you ll have to figure out who made the machine and what model it is, then your search on google may begin. The forums here http://www.vendiscuss.com/ have lots of experts in various machines that may be able to help you.

ooo thats gunna be hard to find try googling it but u r gunna nee some luk
