someone wants to buy a ps3 game from me but shipping will cost me extra to Puerto Rico so I wanna raise his shipping charge to 9.99 from 3.29 is there any way to do that after the auction ends or should I do something now?

ok.. What the shipping was saying ?? .. it say international shipping ? or for usa ?? You could do that , by sending the invoice when you send the invoice through ebay, you can change the shipping charges there from 3.29 to 9.99.. Without your parents support and approval you could end up losing more money than earning. I would encourage you to do research because it s alot easier to spend money than it is to earn it. Check out the book Fast Cash for Kids by Bonnie Noel Drew (library) to show that your intent is more than just a phase. The library is an awesome start as you learn about accounting, marketing, taxes, and everything else that goes with having a legal business. Another book to read is The Richest Kids in America by Mark Vincent Hansen. You can get this from the library also. Did you know there are teens and tweens literally making millions of dollars? You could be one of them but be upfront and mature with what you re doing. Hiding things from your folks is neither.

At 13 you are not old enough to enter into any type of contract. That is essentially what any type of business is, a contract between two parties. So having a legitimate business without your parents support will be difficult. You can t purchase liability insurance, which is a must for any business these days. I don t want to discourage you, but your chances of starting a successful business without your parents help is pretty small. Just keep searching for what you are passionate about. At 13, there isn t much you can do but gather ideas about what you are interested in. Get a job in areas that you like and learn skills that you are interested in. That way you find out more about yourself and open doors to new places. When you get a job make sure you save a lot. Don t go out spending it, if you save money that means that is less money that you will have to borrow from the bank and a whole lot of other crap. Saving money right now is the most important thing. As a High School drop out I can tell you, Not one job I have ever had has ever checked. They all say they do but I have passed countless background checks for gov t and non gov t jobs. As long as your a hard worker, you have as much room for advancement as anyone else in any company. Go to school if you can, not for the degree, but for the lesson. But if you can t.. I make more money then most of my peers :)

What is best marketing technique for new small business without an office or retail location? -

Our company is based off of a guerilla business model, which has us starting out with having our office based out of an apartment for the time being. Because we don t have a physical location such as in a mall strip or office park, we cannot present ourselves with a place where clients can do walk-ins. We are strictly by appointment, but we want to generate steady traffic as a retail location might do. What would be the best marketing technique to use in our scenario, given that our budget is somewhat tight? I have heard that mass mailing is definitely an option, but have also heard that door hangers are even a cheaper route, but we may have to obtain a loitering license?

There is a book I am currently reading called: The lead generation handbook : how to generate all the sales leads you ll ever need-- quickly, easily, and inexpensively! by Robert Bly. So far it has been a great book. It talks about strategies for getting more leads from the marketing materials that you do use. I have a business myself doing home repairs and also do in home estimates. I have found sites that are lead aggregaters or generators. People looking for your service or product go to their website and then they send you their info. It costs money but at least for our work it is profitable. Door to Door is also very effective because we have the chance to remind people that they need our service by pointing something out they need when we speak with them at their door. We have tried to use door hangers before and it didn t work for our service, but that could be because of a poor layout and offering. Good luck!

I believe you will be violating housing laws if you operate out of an apartment and have people coming to your apartment. Additionally, lots of people coming to your apartment might get you reported as a drug dealer. You need to find another way to do your business - website, meet customers at a coffee shop, etc.Many people work from home but few have customers coming to their homes. The marketing method doesn t change. You just don t put an address in your ads.
