I don t think you want to open a franchise? I think you want to open a small self owned business with a flip flop supplier. The answer is yes, there are grants available from the government to open new businesses (not sure on franchises? don t think so) but the grants are usually reserved for minority owned businesses. however, another nice avenue might be looking at the grants available at the sba which stands for small business administration. I think there is definately a chance for you if you do your homework and I wish the the best of luck!
Even if you had a 700+ credit score, getting a small business loan in today s market is next to impossible and will cause you more stress and pain than your business every will.I would recommend developing your business plan and then finding the funding from private parties. There is a ton of money being invested in small businesses today from friends, family, business contacts and other small business owners.
