They stole items from the house - that is a police matter, and your mother should contact the police and file a report. If your mom had insurance, the insurance might cover the loss of the items, so she should review the policy to see how to make a claim or to talk with her insurance agent. As for the rent, you can see if they filed a change of address notice at the post office.

If she had a contract she could take them to small claims court, all she has to do is file,and the court system will eventually find them. If she rented it with no contract, no deposit, then its a live and learn situation.

I think you should ask around (and/or ask your Mom do this) what babysitters are paid in your area. Then charge just a little bit less to make yourself marketable. You would probably need First Aid training before CPR training if you are babysitting children.

If you were younger, $5 per hour would be perfect, but because you are older and experienced, I would say 7 or 8 dollars an hour. This is good for one or two kids, but any extra money depends on the individual situation.

I sold a pair of Ugg boots on ebay. To my knowledge they are authentic. The person bought them Aug 13, left positive feedback and was happy. Now today, Oct 2nd, wrote to tell me they are fake and they are filing a dispute with ebay if I dont give them a refund. I explained that to my knowledge they are authentic. I bought them through ebay last year but they were too small so I resold them. They keep threatening me and then tried to open a case in paypal but it wont work bc its past the 45 days. Now she is sending the boots back and wants a full refund which I dont think is right. She said she wore the boots and then found them leaving fur on her sock. Plus I wont get back my ebay/paypal fees now ... what should I do?

contact ebay yourself and tell them its been over 45 days and they have worn them, there has been no contact until now. your not willing to give them a refund! it will be ok

This is a scam. She has decided she either do not like the boots or is short on cash and see you as an easy target to get money.You should do nothing. If she returns the boots to you do not open the box. Return them on her dime. Flat out tell her you are not accepting a return of this merchandise.I had to do this with someone. I think males can be good too, depending on if they like clothes. I ve been working at a clothing retail store for about a year now as a part-time. Within a year, there were so many employees and managers that left. I know that since it s a women s clothing store, the employees will gossip about each other. Our store recently got a new co-manager and she s been gossiping about everyone including myself with the other managers. I didn t hear about it before, but the coworkers told me recently. I never spoke about anyone because I believe it s petty. When the others would gossip, I would just nod but I wouldn t say anything about another co-worker. It made me furious however, that I m hearing these things they say about me now and in front of me they are all nice or act nice. I try my best at work, I can definitely say this for sure, but it s getting to me about all this gossiping. They talk about each other and once they are with those coworkers they talked about, they all crack jokes, laugh, like there is nothing going on. I get all paranoid now thinking one of them talked about me when one of them happens to give me a cold shoulder. How do I overcome this?

Paid $1050 for booth at show, now what? -

I am signed up for Portland Spring Home and Garden Show in feb.I have done a smaller show and had okay success (paid for the show basically) but this is a big show and I would like some ideas to make my booth stand out. I am not in the HVAC business, but I do own a small business. I can tell you from personal experience that I wish I taken an accounting course before I started my business. It would have made a huge difference in the early years understanding why I never seemed to have the money I thought I should have. No matter what, as a business owner, you need to control the money. Never give that responsibility to anyone else. Even Oprah personally signs all of the checks for her mutli-billion dollar empire. Not a dollar is spent she is not aware of. Call up the most well-known computer repair shop in the area and ask them what their price is, and cut it. I m going to go half. I live in a small town, and there isn t a single shop in town. Everyone takes their computers to a Best Buy to get them repaired. The prices are outrageous, and the results completely unsatisfactory.$40 + the cost of the RAM to add it is good, I think. Seriously, it takes like ten minutes. If you re slow.

i would call up three or four local competitors to see what their prices are for the services i want to offer. i would then create a spreadsheet of 3-4 items per competitor and put it all in a matrix. this will give you a fair idea of what the market you re in is willing to pay for your services. go by your gut feeling. sometimes when you talk to customers, you get an idea of how much they are willing to spend. ask customers who are price shopping how much they perceive the value of your service is. that will knock some reality into your pricing and help you correct upward or downward for next time. by the time you re on to your 10th customer, you will have a fairly good idea of pricing. good luck.

They are not making any money unless they are scalping tickets for high demand events. Most of the tickets being sold are by people who find that they cannot attend after they bought their ticket and are just trying to recover money for tickets they cannot use.

My mother in law was an Avon rep for a while. She really didn t make any sales so she stopped doing it. While she was a rep, she would bring books over for me to look at. When I asked her for samples of lipsticks and perfume, she said that she didn t have any because she had to buy them herself. She also said she had to buy her books every month.I am interested in becoming a rep. I know someone that used to do Avon back in the 80 s but she always had samples. I was under the impression you get them free. I haven t found any information online telling me that you have to buy them. Is my mother in law right?

It s cheap to sign on with Avon, but there seems to be a lot of extras you need to buy to keep it going. If you think you can get along without the samples at first, it might be worth a try. Then buy more with your commissions. It just depends on what you want to buy upfront. I paid more than $10 to get started with my Scentsy business, but that s all I needed to get started. So each business has it s pros and cons. What s important is you find a business that you can be passionate about.
