I have to go to my supplier and buy the goods on my customers behalf.So, i have a signed and dated purchase order from my customer. I will then require a proforma invoice from the supplier.The goods are brand new and in unopened boxes....so i cant check them all because they are unopened.....plus there are 10 truck loads. So i have to assume that a few random spot checks are ok. But how do i know that the supplier will release the goods once i pay him? Common Sense is right on target. MLM is always a scam; some are legal and some illegal but scams either way.

It s not a scam, it is a legit MLM. I personally don t believe it is good though. I have not tried them, because I don t beleive it to be a good opportunity. It is possible to make money in any legit MLM as long as you follow the system in place, but some are much tougher than others. I believe Market America to be one of the tough ones for a number of reasons. I know several people who are with Market America, but don t know any who are really having any success with it. There are many better, easier and more profitable MLMs out there.

Good MLM are extremely rare.

Is this a fair deal in selling on ebay? -

I sold a camera that my friend bought for $50 it sold for $240. Now he wants the $50 dollars than to divide the remaining profit. I had to do all the work as to listed on ebay. Is this fair or not?

The offer is MORE than fair. Next time, before selling something for someone, have an agreement in place. Although I disagree with the above responder, in that, it DOES take a lot of work to list something on eBay--if you re thorough and concise, your friend is STILL being very fair. I would take the money and be SUPER appreciative. If I was selling for a friend, I wouldn t expect more than a 10-20% cut of the PROFIT (not total price), less the fees of course.

As it stands it s his camera and without an agreement in place beforehand he is entitled to all the money. You may have had to do all the work, but listing something on ebay isn t that much work. You are also not considering that he s the one that had $50 at risk if the camera didn t sell. Splitting the profit seems fair to me. He was the one that capitalized the deal and your the one who did the work. I think he s being more than fair.

It isn t going to ask you, you type in your reserve price on the auction page as you are filling out the form. It s on there, just look for it. Once you fill in your reserve price it will then add the added fee to your listing fee.If you start it at a fixed price, the listing fee may get pretty high, as it is calculated by the amount you choose.

A contract is written to outline what work will be done and for what price.The day the contractor arrives, the customer walks throught the project to make sure there is no misunderstanding of what is to be done.The contractor feels the customer has money so he decides to do extra work to make a bigger profit.What prevents a contractor from doing what he wants and demanding more money for it?After the customer has paid the agreed amount in full, what can the customer do to stop the harassing phone calls demanding more money and threats to come back and undo the work?

The answer will vary from state to state. You need to see an attorney in your state to get an answer specific to your situation. Without knowing what state you are in, I do not know if I am licensed to practice there so this is NOT legal advise, just a general answer to a question about contract law. You mentioned a contractor so the work may involve work on land (real property). That could involve something called the statute of frauds (which has nothing to do with fraud) which says that a contract must be in writing to be enforced generally. There are exceptions but if you did not get a written contract for the additional work he claims he did, he could be out of luck. Again, talk to a lawyer in your state to be sure. Since you did not mention getting a written contract to begin with though, I am concerned you may not have a written contract. In that instance, it is your word against his and up to a judge or jury to decide what the real agreement was. There is no need to waste time argung or debating with him on the phone and it will only frustrate you. If you do not want to pay him, tell him you do not intend to pay and suggest that he file a suit if he wishes and you can both discuss it in court. You feel he is trying to take advantage of you and did unauthorized or unnecessary work. He feels you are trying to avoid paying for necessary work. Those are not easy positions to reconcile and that is what the court system is for. There are alternatives like mediation, arbitration and such but the absolute worst thing you can do is continue to be troubled about it or continue to engage in arguments. That is not helpful for either of you. Depending on your state, he cannot come back and undo the work in most states I know about. As for stoppping him from calling, nothing will do that unless he is truly harassing and then you need to report it to the police. But from experience I can tell you that those types of action will probably egg him on more than if you just ignore him, hang up on him or otherwise do not engage with him. The argument that he is harassing you by telephone will open a whole new can of worms and involve a lot more people and none of it will be a good thing. The contractor wants drama and wants to annoy you so filing a complaint with the police will just feed his ego most of the time. Ignore him and tell him to take it to court and you can both discuss it there.

This is a very big question, not answerable in this forum. I can tell you that education (not necessarily formal) and experience are what will lead you to success. You may read about the 23 yr old wonder who made $14m, but those stories are far and few between. Those are sensational and easily make news headlines. Hard work and persistance will pay off. A McD franchise is well over $1m to open now and without years of multi chain fast food restaurant management experience and large net worth, it won t happen. There are other options, but with a franchise you are basically paying to become part of a proven system for success and they charge a premium for that. It is a shorter path, but more costly upfront.

Just be sure to do your due dilligence to make sure they are legit. Ok im 19 and a student and i want to start small car wash business. My approach is unique, im going to bill customers monthly, 50$ and i will wash their car once a week. Including a car wash, with detail, vacuum and leather treatment. My questions are, do you think using their water hose and electricity will work? Also, how should I bill them? because they might not want to pay the 50 up front, and if I wait a month they might scam ME.

Always have them pay you after the detail is done or your gonna spend half your time chasing down and collecting payment if they even pay. And $50 for 4 wash/details per month?? Are you sure you don t mean $50 per wash? That s a more realistic number for a basic exterior wash/dry and a basic wipe down of interior and vacuum. Their water and electricity will work for you if you explain that to them up front. Or you could do what I do and use a No Rinse wash. Takes me 2 gallons of water to do entire vehicle. I just go to the store and buy 2 gallons of distilled water and use that. Also, letting them know you would only wash their vehicle with distilled water to prevent water spots makes you stand out. Just explain you will need an outlet to run your wet vac and ask them if that would be a problem. I ve never had a customer say no. No, using their stuff won t work. Not all would have outlets where it would be convenient for you. You d be better off investing in a pickup truck with water tank and a generator. THEN you run into the problem of the gray water discharge, as a lot of communities now have BIG concerns regarding the dirty water runoff into regular storm drains. As for your billing... You bill them PER WASH, but with a monthly discount of say, 10% (i.e. buy X washes now and get 10% off)And you are seriously undercharging, IMHO. Even running a car through the gas station wash is like 5-10. A premium car wash where you get the vacuum and hand-dry is $20. And there are at least 4 weeks per month. $50 a month is WAY TOO CHEAP. Another possibility: basic car wash package, premium car wash package, full detailing. $50 gets 3 basic washes (once per week) and 1 premium wash. You can give coupons for discounts on other packages or services. You will need insurance... in case of accidents and damages to customer vehicles, and some locations, such as company parking lots, may not allow you to wash there. Keep that in mind.

Would love to walk in to find the main area full of couches and easy chairs arranged in small areas with coffee tables and end tables onto which to set drinks. This could promote more interaction not only with people who came in together but would seem more inviting to others to sit and join others in small groups. Could be a great way to talk to and meet new people (one big reason some people go to pubs.) Could possibly lead to better sales also as if people are seated comfortably and a waitress comes to them, I feel they would be likely to stay for another round. For the furniture arrangement, I m picturing a larger version of some of the seating areas now commonly found in coffee bars. Surly, I would recommend furniture coverings that are easily wiped down for cleaning (buzzed people spill drinks) such as faux leather or vinyl.

There aren t many, I know some at-home customer service jobs provide benefits I m sure they are more but I don t know what they are. The only place I recall seeing this mentioned is www.athomeopps.com, they just list companies that hire people to work from home. Avon isn t a scam but I don t know how well their sellers do either, I ve known people to sell it but it was just a second or in one case third job. If you want to do direct selling I would suggest something less common.

You can sell at any price you want. There are many, many regulations relating to making food and selling it. Check with your local health dept. Most states will not let you make food at home and sell it in a store.

I don t know. I can t see how you can get in trouble if they don t know that your selling cheaply in one store than another. Unless they are aware you own/emplyed in another store then in that case they may check the prices. I wouldn t not risk it if I were you, just be honest and good deeds will come to you. Sometimes being greedy can get you in hot water.

Do not take a chance this is business, you need to get a Lawyer and let him draw up the papers and then both of you sign them. Do not get any forms some of them are not even binding even when you have them notarized. It will be worth it to pay extra for a lawyer to get this done right for the both of you. You do not want to lose any money so get a Lawyer.
