You could also allow the person that you have chosen to have a days work experience with the company, which should give both sides an opportunity to see if all the pieces of the jigsaw fit - there is nothing worse that employing someone that you think will enhance your company only to find that when they actually start working for you they show a totally different side of their character than what was presented at the interview.
