I wanna start a home-based business, where to get reliable suppliers? -

What kind of home-based business you re thinking of?

Bookkeeping for selling abroad, advice plz? -

Hi!I m going to sell stuff to other EU country by internet, set a bank account over there, so people could easily pay for bought items.Every so often,I want to take money from foreign account and pay them into my UK business one. But I ve no idea, how to record it. Any advice? Or where can I go and ask for cheap? Thanks for Your help

Speak to your local Business Link. Their help is free and they re really good on imports and exports.Do you need to have another bank account? Why not use Paypal and accept payment in Euros as well as sterling? That way you just make a transfer from your Paypal into your business bank account without needing to make any special records. The only point at which you ll need to watch how you record it is if you reach the VAT threshold - around 67k turnover - as they require you to show goods bought and sold in the EU separately.Good luck!

Do you have to share gratuities with the house? -

A relative of mine began working at a store that has a tip jar. At the end of the day the employees on shift divide the tips for that day equally. Recently the owner decided that the house should get a share even if the owner isn t working that day. Is this legal?

There is nothing illegal in the US or Canada. It is just a moral issue. I think the owner and the workers should work out something themselves.

AdSense: Is this a violation of its rules? -

I recently learned how to make money through your blog. Since my parents don t have an allowance system, and I barely have enough time for any chores to earn that money, I thought using this system would help me earn some money so I wouldn t have to ask my parents for money all the time when I go out with friends. I thought about earning, but not excessively. I don t need tips on how to get a LOT of money. Just enough to last me a while (even if that is only about $30/2 weeks. Anyway, I looked more into AdSense, and found out that it is only for people 18 years of age and up. Obviously, I was very disappointed, because I already had ideas for my blog running through my head. My question is: If a person under 18 years old owns their blog (blogspot), can a parent/guardian over 18 years of age sign up to AdSense for them, and accept the money for them? Or is that a violation to AdSense s rules?

Yes you can have your parents sign up and take the money for you then give you the money.

Do you think there is still a market for internet cafes? -

I want to start an internet cafe. There is not one internet cafe in my town. There are coffee houses, but no internet cafes. With all the coffee houses and other places providing free wi-fi and the price of lap tops going down in price, do you think there is a real market for internet cafes in todays marketplace?

With the way technology is today I don t think so. You can get a wireless connection from your local cell phone company so you really don t need to go to a cafe.Sorry but I think internet cafes are a thing of the past.

What is the #1 piece of advice for a small business wanting to make the jump into a larger market? -

+In this economy

Expand cautiously. Entrepreneurs are wonderfully optimistic folks, and it s easy to see the path to a much bigger company. But the economic environment screams out for smart growth, meaning limiting your debt and keeping costs under control. You should realize that large companies tend to work on a very different timetable from smaller businesses; they are much less nimble and willing to take risk. They have many vendors, large and small, chasing them at this point and you ll be one of the many. So, if you are eager to move into larger markets, be aware that buyers will move more slowly than you want them to, which means you need to plan for that in your sales cycle and your cost structure. That said, capital is beginning to loosen up for large companies and they appear to be ready to slowly grow their spending. If your idea is ripe and you can keep your risk low in this expansion, it might be the right time to position yourself for the economic expansion of the next few years.

Keep your I on the ball.
