Trademarks and how they work? -

Can someone give me information about trademarks and how they work?

Trademarks can be names of products or services, logos, slogans, packaging and even sounds and smells. In essence, a trademark can be almost anything that is used to identify a particular product or service. Registering a trademark grants the owner exclusive rights to the mark within the specified industry. Of course, it s necessary to research the mark comprehensively prior to filing to ensure that there is no possibility of infringing upon another party. This entails searching the pending registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark. To register a trademark, that s done either through your Secretary of State for a State trademark or the US Patent Trademark Office for a Federal trademark. If you are only conducting business in one state, then a State trademark is most appropriate. If you conduct (OR are planning to conduct) business in at least 2 states OR between the US any other country, you can file for a Federal trademark.Hope that helps! I wish you much success happiness in all your ventures!

Do I get a refund if the seller dont respond back the dispute on paypal? -

I open a dispute on paypal that i didn t recieved my item! it was an ipod 5g green! it nver came! so far he didn t respond back! its been 1 week past! i just wanted to know if i get a refund on the item if he dont respond back on the dispute?

Not necessarily, but as long as they don t provide shipping info or something, you should be OK. Have you escalated it at this point? Getting a refund is a 2 step process, so make sure you escalate the claim. Otherwise just keep tabs on it in case Paypal requires further info.

Yes

How do I send all my 5000 email addresses an email at one time? -

I pay for 4 websites to yahoo and I ve got the highest amount of email addresses saved, but I can only send out 50 at a time, so I have to send the same email 100 timies--what a waste of time. Please tell me how I can do this quicker!

You find a email sender company for direct mailing and they will do it for you. If you don t want to pay for that then I suggest you hurry up and find one because they will be offering free trials for the holidays. But most of the time they will charge you anyways and sometimes the mail they send ends up in spam. So If i was you I would send them myself to make sure they will end up in the inbox instead of the spam. And you don t have to send them all in one day. Just send 300 a day and 300 a night.

Paid $1050 for booth at show, now what? -

I am signed up for Portland Spring Home and Garden Show in feb.I have done a smaller show and had okay success (paid for the show basically) but this is a big show and I would like some ideas to make my booth stand out. I make and sell greenhouses (stevesgreenhouses.com) and have a 10 x10 display house (completly assembled) that I use on a 10 x10 space so everything has to be inside of the greenhouse. I put up lots construction pictures and pics of my customers greenhouses. I have a few blooming Orchids for show only and have an area for business cards, flyers, and candy on a bench. (benches run full length both sides of house) I also cover the floor with black ground cloth.I m looking for suggestions for things that will make my display stand out to people walking by. My customers age groups are from 20 to 80 and most are hands on type of people that will assemble these kits themselves, so I would also like to do some sort of theme directed at them Retro? Down Home? Country? Farmers Market ?Thanks for you time reading this, any suggestion appreciated. Sometimes a fresh prospective can shed new light. Thanks again Steve

Movement, color, door prizes are attention getters. Do you plan any door prizes or drawings? Will you be selling small items from your display to help defray the cost or have only the greenhouses for sale?Just brainstorming and don t know if they d apply: Seeds--seed packets are colorful. Kitchen compost or scrap saver. Flower pots. Watering cans. Colorful gardening gloves and hats. Fountain, either tabletop or larger. Windchimes. Birds in a cage. ButterfliesDisplay (for sale or not) of some of your favorite tools. Kid-sized tools, etc. attract kids and grandparents, especially.Could you cut a deal with a nursery to furnish some plants in exchange for advertising? Or with a hardware to let you use tools?Give away a flyer (could be simple, 1-page or less and self printed) about something such as best plants for kids to grow, how to make compost, etc. Or favorite greenhouse plants for beginners. It would have your company info, too.Good luck.

This doesn t exactly answer your question about how to make your booth stand out, but why not have dozens of seedlings in small pots to give away, in exchange for visitors filling out a qualifying questionnaire? These can be used for warm-calling after the show.

Bookkeeping for selling abroad, advice plz? -

Hi!I m going to sell stuff to other EU country by internet, set a bank account over there, so people could easily pay for bought items.Every so often,I want to take money from foreign account and pay them into my UK business one. But I ve no idea, how to record it. Any advice? Or where can I go and ask for cheap? Thanks for Your help

Speak to your local Business Link. Their help is free and they re really good on imports and exports.Do you need to have another bank account? Why not use Paypal and accept payment in Euros as well as sterling? That way you just make a transfer from your Paypal into your business bank account without needing to make any special records. The only point at which you ll need to watch how you record it is if you reach the VAT threshold - around 67k turnover - as they require you to show goods bought and sold in the EU separately.Good luck!
