Here s two basic ways that I am thinking (although i am no dancer!).Either you sit down with your bank manager and take him by the hand through your very detailed plan on how you are going to achieve each and every step of your ascent to success, backing it all up with lots of neatly written numbers... and when/if you get the cash you hope you haven t made any mistakes and go out and spend the bank s money and hope you can sleep well that night and the next till you see what happens..or you are just going to teach a friend how to dance, then another, then you get half a dozen people, then it get to be so many people that you must find a better place than your living room and by then you will have a bit of money, you will know where the place better be or not be, what it needs etc etc and so you find a little run down room somewhere, give it a lick of white paint, add some strategic posters and lights and learn about keeping your books in order, maybe having an accountant friend to show you and after a year of this you might have your own money to really get going.If you don t, you know it is time to give it up and do something else.

If you are asking if street peddlers are selling legitimate DVDs then the answer is a big No. Never mind though as hopefully the police will get them and eventually only legitimate one will be sold but they WONT be cheap

The only likely way a street peddler can be in possession of legit movies is for them to be stolen property. One exception is if they were obtained from a shipper s or Post Office auction, which is very rare. Counterfeit (illegally copied) movies are very common, and are more likely. They can look exactly like the good stuff . There is a chance that an illegal copy will play, but there are no guarantees and there is no one to give you your refund if you are cheated. I think that is obvious. For bargains, you could wait til a picture goes on sale. You could ask friends to sell you their old movies. You can buy used movies after others have seen them. Do you feel lucky?

They re just copies. Illegal as Hell.But the technology is so good you just can t tell. CD image printers and access to the printed movie box artwork just makes their crime even easier.

Jason, this plan sounds more like a strategy to market yourself onto the scrap heap. I rarely like concepts that make it harder for customers to complete transactions. Taking away the way most consumers like to pay doesn t seem like much of an idea for them to connect with your business. What is the value proposition for them? (By the way, business owners who aren t constantly asking themselves that last question don t have much a future.) Customers don t care if you have to pay bank fees for card use; all they care about is making their transactions quicker and easier.That said, if you could turn it into a positive for buyers, I could warm to this idea. For instance, you might think about setting aside a certain segment of your merchandise and slashing prices with a cash-only caveat. You could select slow-moving or low-margin products, sort of a close-out for those armed with cash. That way, customers could feel that they are winning as you win too.
