Does yellow pages and yell.com work for your business? -

im looking into paying for a sponsored listing which obviously get priority etc is it worth i and has it worked for you?

I turned down the offer to buy an ad. The rep on the phone said they had 2600 searches last year for businesses like mine (print), which is pathetic considering there are 200 of us in a city of about a million. Mind you, I m business-to-business, and in a niche at that; if you re more consumer-oriented then an ad might be worth looking at. (Bearing in mind that there are a lot of ways to spend an advertising budget.) Ask them how many category searches they get for your industry in your city. They ought to be able to tell you, and watch out if they don t. You could also call some of your competitors who do have ads and see if they ve noticed a difference in sales.

nope it didnt work for me, perhaps because of the amount of Photographers in there though. It might work if theres only a few competition in there for you

Who else thinks this is redundant? -

Work sucks! We re born, we go to school for 14-20 years, then we WORK 8 HOURS A DAY, 5 DAYS A WEEK FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!!!! MINIMUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It s time for an uprising people!

As opposed to the good old days when you started work as soon as you could walk, worked 12-18 hours per day 7 days a week and died when you were 40.

Do what you love, and its not work.

I want to start a second web site on my yahoo account. Can I use two different payment methods (credit cards)? -

I am about to create another website on my yahoo account. The first was a site for my fathers business so the payment method is his card. The new site will be for me so I d like it to be on my card instead. When I start setting up the new site it shows my previous payment method (dads card). I just want to make sure if I put my card info in wont change the payment method for the already existing site?

best bet is to setup your own account seperate from your fathers yahoo account

How do I start a piano tuning business? -

Hi,I am thinking about starting a piano tuning business. I have played the piano for over 11 years now and know all of it s functions. I was hoping a few of you could elaborate on what the qualifications are. Is there a class of certification or recognition I must take and exactly how would I truly learn how to do all the requirements needed for tuning and/or repairing a piano. Thanks and if you would like to contact me beyond Yahoo Answers, please send me an e-mail through my profile. Thanks once again, your help is greatly appreciated! :)

Find a piano tuner in your area and ask them to train you. It would be best to either plan to move out of the area once you finished training or move to a new area and seek training there. Unless you are lucky enough to find one ready to retire, I doubt they will be eager to train competition.

Can I use a generic Standing Order form, or do I need to get one from the relevant bank? -

like the one at www.standingorderform.co.uk, or a customised version of it.

So long as use submit the information required by the bank in writing you can use any format. You can incorporate it in a letter if you wish. The forms are printed for customer and bank convenience.

You should be all right with a generic one. The information that goes on a standing order is pretty universal. The only thing that may need is a reference number from the people you want to set up the standing order to.
