Seeking some extra income. Work at home preferred. Any suggestions? -

I ve been unemployed for some time now. And with the economy today, unless you know people that know people, it s hard to find work. I m really seeking a job working from home since I am a part time student. But most work-from-home websites are obvious scams or require unreasonable payments just to start. Please, if you know any reliable sources, it would really help a lot. Preferably something that pays at least 150/wk and doesn t cost to begin. Thanks!

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

Teen business ideas for 2 teens? -

Me and a friend(14 and 15) we want to put a little more money. We just need a business idea and how to get that idea started. DON T say lawn work, window washing, etc.

Well, be careful of work at home opportunities, they are almost always scams. I tried a lot of them when I was younger, and never found any that were not scams. That Mr. is probably trying to scam you.If you have a good local flea market, you could try buying stuff on Ebay or from small wholesalers, and reselling them at the local flea market. You can get collections of DVD s pretty cheap on Ebay for example. Sometimes for as little as $1 dollar per DVD. You could then try selling them for more, like maybe $5 per DVD. Books, Video Games and CD s are cheap on Ebay too. You could start by checking the local flea market and writing down prices you see, then try to find the same stuff cheaper on Ebay. There s always the risk of losing money when you buy and sell stuff though. If you re any good with computers, you could do a computer repair service, or help people set up their Ipods, tv and stuff like that. A clever teenager can solve most computer problems people have, you can usually find a solution to almost any computer problem by simply searching google. Buying a book on computer repair to learn the basics would help too. A book on A++ computer tech certification would teach you most the basics. PC techs charge as much as $70 an hour for easy stuff like virus removal and tune-ups. Some people would probably be willing to risk letting teens work on their computer if you charged less like maybe $15 an hour to start, then more later when you got better. Many adults don t know how to do anything on a computer, except email and browse the web. You could start by learning as much as you could in a few months, then advertising for the easier services, then doing more as you learn more. Sadly yard work, babysitting and window washing are probably the easiest ways to get money at your age. Also lots of results come up when you google business ideas for teens , such as dog walking, face painting, car washing, tutoring (if you re good at any particular subjects).

What are you good at? And what do you like doing?Edit: Those to questions are for you to answer, so that I/we can get some ideas.

How can a stay at home mom earn a little extra cash on a semi regular basis? -

Please don t say get a job I live in a really small town it s near impossible to find a job thanks in advance for suggestions.

I live in a small town so I know what you mean, Trish! There really are a lot of opportunities available once you start to look for them. Part of deciding what to do to earn extra cash depends on what you re interested in. For example if you like to write, providing SEO articles might be a possibility. If you enjoy crafts, maybe you can do something along those lines.A quick, easy way to make a few quick dollars might be to sell excess things you have around the house on eBay. Take a look on eBay to see how similar items are listed and what they re selling for. Then you can sell similar items. Once you get the hang of eBay, you can sell your own items (such as crafts you make) or items you pick up locally from yard sales and similar.Another approach would be to check out books on Amazon. Go to Amazon.com and search for books on part-time income opportunities or part-time businesses or spare time income . Amazon let s you search the table of contents and index of the books so you ll be able to find a whole list of extra cash generators (and probably many that you never thought of). If you find a book that looks particularly helpful, you can buy it or borrow it from your library. These are a few thoughts to get you started. I wish you good luck and would be happy to hear what you decide on.

Trish, if you like the web you should look around for some simple ideas. The great thing about the internet is that it doesn t matter how big or small your town is ;)I ve from 5 yrs of research that there are a lot of good solutions for anyone to stay at home and earn extra money, but the most important thing is finding something that you are passionate about. Otherwise you will lose interest and give up on what you re doing which will put you back at step 1. I found this interesting site that has a TON of ideas on it that you might want to check out, hope it helps.

Hey!Basically, there are 2 ways:1)BloggingBuild a blog, create a brand, sell advertisement space... it is fun, but it takes a bit of time. If you are not sure how to do this, I would start with the Blog Mastermind course by Yaro Starak. Here, i found some info about his course:http://making-money-blogging-mastermind.2)Affiliate marketingIf you don t want to blog, learn sell products (without spending a dime). If you are not sure what to do, I would go through the Stephen Pierce s course, because he is getting great feedback. Again, if you need some info first:http://make-money-working-at-home-mrmi.b

I know there are a lot of scams out there so be careful! Dont listen to the people though who say they are ALL scams. They are not actually ALL scams, just a lot of them are! LOL! In fact Yahoo Finance says that for every 1 legitimate home based opportunity there are 57 scams! At any rateI am actually a nurse and I love working outside the home but I know a lot of people want or need to work from home. About 2 years ago my sister finally found a legitimate company thats been in business for 20 years. I dont know too much about it but shes been doing it for 2 years now, about 20 hours a week and she makes about $40,000 a year. I know its legit because they have dozens of fortune 500 partners, they are members of the US Chamber of Commerce and of course, Ive seen her paychecks, LOL! She says she loves it! She gets to stay home with her kids which is pretty cool! Its not a job working for someone else but instead she sets her own schedule and she determines how much she makes. The more she puts into it, the more she gets out. I wish jobs were like that because I know I work way harder than some of the nurses here who are getting paid the same as I am! LOL I hope this helps you! Good Luck in your search!-Michelle

Things I look for in a business are free or low cost to join, free or low cost to run, some level of training and/or support, a website or information on how to create one, and a simple duplicatable business success system. The company and people should support and train you because when you make money they make money. I really like businesses that can be run part time, from home, and online.

I do some part time online work, its really boring and the only thing that convinced me it wasn t a scam was the fact that it didn t ask for any more information than an email, name and address. No credit/debit or bank account information needed.I m not going to tell you will make enough to live off of though some members do I make around 20-50 dollars a month. THis month I hope to have 30 by monday at midnight (the last day of the month is the cut off) and I will recieve a check around 12-23 or 12-27 (holidays slow down mail)I just put in 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on my homework housework and kids a night.Check it out give it a month and if you aren t satisfied then you can cancell your account with no problemsbit.ly/makemoremoney

My mom does daycare. Before that, she work at a dentist office.

I have an invention and i dont have money to patten it . what do i do? -

i know pattening something cost a lot and im young and broke. but i have a great invention that would make life just a little easier, is their a company that would do it for me if they liked it enough and i get some % of profit . THANKS PEOPLE!

Call the Invention Submission Corporation. They will help you patten your idea, but you have to share royalties with them.

you really have to access your invention/idea, if it s going make a profit when you patten it, and how serious you are about commercializing it. There are people who sponsor these kind of entrepreneurship, they are the Venture Capitalists. However, they will take a big chunk of your business, normally 50%. Sometimes the banks sponsor it too, but you need a solid business plan to convince them. Keeping the patten every year is very expensive, unless your invention can generate a constant stream of cash flow, please don t do it, it s a very risky business.

You have the answer....someone rich or a rich company will have to agree to finance the project. YOu ll have to convince them it will be worth their investment.

How much money do I need saved up to open up my own business (a clothing store)? -

thanks

Your Small Business Administration can help figure out your business plan and help you with calculating the costs.Lets start with the basics: inventory, utilities, fixtures and rent.Rent is the most important to consider. Figure $40/square foot for most places, $120/square foot for a mall location. You might want to call a few of those numbers on the For Lease signs to get a better ballpark for your part of the country. Triple net is something to beware of. The net is on-going maintenance and landscaping fees charged by the landlord. It is divided up by the tenants based on the % of total square footage each tenant rents.Utilities are pretty much set. Contact your utility companies and ask what the monthly bills were for the locations you are considering. Add about 10% to the numbers they tell you. Add in security services to your utilities section.Fixtures are the clothing racks, checkout counters, cash registers, etc, that you will want for your shop. You can find stores that sell these items and start pricing them in your area; look under business supplies and store fixtures/shelving in the yellow pages.Inventory is your area expertise, you should be able to estimate how much the inventory will cost. With those done, lets move to the advanced things: employees, insurance, professional fees and permits.Permits are your sales tax permits and tax exemption numbers. These are usually one time fees paid to your state.Professional fees are what you pay for the lawyer to help you set things up and your accountant to keep your books straight. Figure about $1000 for the first year for the set up and $400 annually for the book keeping.Insurance will vary by where you are and how much coverage you want. Call insurance brokers in your area for ballpark figures.Employees will cost you more than you think. Even at minimum wage, plan on $14 per hour for an employee to cover insurance and taxes you have to pay. My estimate might be high, but it is better to over estimate instead of falling short, plus it will help cover extra employees during the holiday seasons.
