Is there any free online accounting program for small businesses (not personal finance)? -

I have a small home-based business and do not have money to spend on expensive software or monthly subscriptions. I would prefer to use something online that doesn t require me to download anything so I can access it from any computer and my phone. Are there any truly free programs like this?

probably not.if it is a small home-based business, then just use microsoft excel or word. i ve used excel and word for my accounting homework and it wasnt really hard to use. and if u cant afford excel, then go to open office and download their free version of excel.

I don t know of anything online that is free. However, you can use the free open source program GnuCash for a business.Read the review by CNET staff here that it is suitable for a small business. You can also download the software from this page.http://download.cnet.com/GnuCash/3000-20If you have questions, you can search in the GnuCash User forum here.http://old.nabble.com/GnuCash---User-f12

What do you think makes a store successful? -

HELP

the store owner has to give the people what they want at reasonable prices while still making a profit. they have to have a good business mindset by ultimately looking out for themselves, they have to be willing to take a risk and if it turns out bad, they have to know when to stop the business. be aware of the stores location and make sure that the products or services being offered there appeal to the people in the area.

To make store sucessful the following stepes required1. Proper accounting of inwards goods2. Proper control on issue of material3. Proper place and identityfication to goods stored in the store4. Monthly or quarterly stock taking of goods lying in the store and reconcilation of shortage/excess found.

main thing according to me in any business is customer satisfaction...

Can anyone give me information on becoming an independent personal shopper? -

My target market would be grocery shopping for the elderly.

Things I look for in a business are free or low cost to join, free or low cost to run, some level of training and/or support, a website or information on how to create one, and a simple duplicatable business success system. The company and people should support and train you because when you make money they make money. I really like businesses that can be run part time, from home, and online.

Well, the whole trick is how much people know about your shop and need your services. You need to advertise for sure, you cannot make a dime without advertising with fliers on a bulletin boards etc. It depends if you want an e-shopping store or a street store. If you want to be successful, you need a good mentor when you don t have the ideas how to improve your business. You can be a great grocery seller, but you definitely need to know how to manage the things outside the shop. You need to know the tricks that really works. Try the link, maybe it is what you are looking for.I wish you the best luck!BetterLif3

Nature of business question? -

I was wondering for a school project, what is the nature of business of a house swapping business?? For example: http://homeaway.comThanks! :)

okay i ve never heard of a house swapping business. i visited that website but just skimmed though it. it looks like if people have additional property they can post it online to that website so people looking to vacation can rent your stuff. the nature would be like tourism. pretty good idea if you think about it. people need money these days and if you ve got the goods in the right place(s), you can make a little extra on the side. but of course leasing it for the long term would be ideal as it would yield a consistent return.

Can a Plaintiff go after my LLC if they sue me personally? -

I know that if someone sues an llc, they cannot go after the personal assets of the partners - beyond the value of the respctive llc, but if someone sues a partern can they go after the partner s interst in the llc?Let s say for example that one of the partner s runs over a pedestrian on the sidewalk and they sue him for more than the coverage limits on his auto insurance. Could that plaintiff then go after the defendant s stake in an llc in which he is a member, or is this protected?

Yes, they can attach any $ going from the LLC to the partner. Also, there is the legal concept of piercing the corporate veil ., which means that the LLC could be at risk, depending upon what actions have been taken by this partner

Business in property management? -

I would like to open a business as a property management(maintenance) llc , more specific taking care of vacant homes.... is there a market for this? i would like to start small and build a solid list of clients. any opinions or advice would be very much appreciated. i come from a real estate sales background.

There may be a market for it, it depends on where you live. I live in the Aspen CO, area and there are a lot of vacation homes here. Here there is a market for property management Companies. I personally do property maintenance for a property management co. that manages rentals for property owners. If you want to try to break into the market. I would advise getting a liability insurance policy and going to vistaprint.com and having business cards made. Don t quit your job until you have enough clients to replace your current income. It s a lot of word of mouth and can be a tough nitch to get into. Another note, most property management companies don t do their own maintenance work, they hire it out. It can be a conflict of interest. For example, if your getting paid to manage the property and do the maintenance. Your client could accuse you of claiming there is a problem and pocketing the repair money. The company I contract for always gets 2-4 bids from different companies and turn those into the owner and let them decide what to do.

As a person involved in property management - you know that there are many fine specialty magazines that are sent to RE Agents and brokers - those are your clients. Go to your local Real Estate Brokers Licensing centers and look for publications that you can use to advertise your special services. Also you can use your yellow pages effectively by sending flyer s to RE agents, keep your rates out of the flyer s - that s something that you reveal when they call for Information and details of your services.
