I am thinking of starting an eBay store in order to have some cash for college, but are they successful? -

I have already made a good 500 plus dollars on eBay over the years thanks to my knowledge at garage sales and such. I have sold videogames, toys, vintage stuff and even an airsoft gun. I was thinking if i do this good on my own, why not open an eBay store? I am talking about buying in bulk and making profit. I know if i try this it will start with a very small pay (cause i will have to build a good customer base.)But are eBay stores successful? I don t want to invest time and money in something just to have a terrible crash.

It can be very successful. You have to sell products that people want, and you have to be able to buy them cheap enough to make a profit. The hard part is that there s a ton of people trying and prices on ebay are extremely low.

How can i make a good amount of money on ebay/online ?!? -

I love buying and selling sports memorabilia and im thinking about starting to buy and sell on ebay. Im looking for some tips and some information on how to maximize my effort into money. I d also love to hear any other ways i can make a good amount of money online and please no stuff about taking surveys or anything.

There are so many I don t even know where to begin. I make all of my income online . . . from being an eBay PowerSeller, writing content for other people s websites, doing search engine optimization for other people s websites, submitting articles to directories, creating my own information products, and selling other people s products. There are tons of ways to make money online. The trick is to find something that you like and focus on it. You ll eventually find your golden ticket if you re dedicated enough. But just remember, there is no getting rich quick online for most of us. It does take work.

You can make money on ebay - but a good amount will be difficult. Sports memorabilia is also a tricky sell.My suggestion is to save up a decent amount of money then wholesale. Either tennis balls or footballs or some other high volume - cheap item that has a high demand. The reasons for doing this is because Ebay is unreliable. A bad rating can mess up your account. Somebody saying they havent received something will cost you. If you try to sell high-end items you will also get burned and the risk is too high. If you are serious about becoming a successful ebayer then wholesale is the way to go. - To be successful with this you must have a decent amount of capital in which to purchase a sufficient amount of stock to bring the price down so it is worth your bother. Once you have done that and received your stock, you can set up shop. You must post and package the cheapest way possible - dont seperate the bill to your item cost- you will find that these will sell better. Your posting and packaging costs should be the starting bid for your item.Guarantee customer satisfaction. So when someone says I havent received what I ordered you refund his/her money immediately. Then deal with them no further - mark their names down and remember never to deal with them again. Ok might not be their fault, but for all you know the postman could be crooked. - But if you guarantee satisfaction it will keep your rating high.Paypal all the way - and never accept payment outside of their terms.Look for online wholesalers for your sporting needs. I only know ones for technology.

Ebay is a hard fraught place to sell anything really, even Hot Wheels cars is sometimes touch and go especially because almost everyone has them and they aren t worth anything. The best advice I can give is be very sure what you are willing to charge to start for the items in question, you get 5 free starter listings basically the charge no listing or insertion fees on the first 5 things. If you happen to get weird one day and decide to change all your ads be advised they can charge you a great deal of money if you are not careful for all the Reserve and Buy It Now changes and if you re-list sometimes it will add another charge too.I lost $120 in a matter of a month and only made a profit of like $100 out of the $270 worth of stuff I sold.Overcharge for shipping by at least $5, make sure you set your start bid at or slightly above the actual market price of a similar item, and do not be tempted to go in for risky reserve or buy it now pricing, keep it as cheap and as simple as you can and try to limit the amount of edits. Read all the rules and be sure to have your Pay Pal and credit accounts set up in advance before you start selling, get verified too.

There s a lot of different ways to make money online. If all you want to do is sell your stuff just stick with ebay. If your trying to get a business going its kind of hard unless you know what you are doing. There are a lot of options out there. There s a really useful site called www.pc-moneymachine.com, its not that fancy looking but it has a list of sites where you can make money online, it even has sites that show you how to use a cell-phone or your Iphone to make money.

If im not a licensed contractor, Can I still pull permits for jobs? -

Also, Do I have to have a permit for a job in order to get and inspection?

home owners do all the time. you must do what the building department in the city where the work is done tell you the steps they want done and in what order. Many cities are different.

If your state requires you to be licensed then you ll have to provide that info when obtaining a permit for work. Usually work that requires an inspection requires a permit.

I doubt itthe homeowner can apply for the permit and pay for it and you don t have to include it in your contract

What upgrades up the price in your computer the most. eg: RAM. What are people looking for? Selling on ebay.? -

Books on how to start a ebay business? -

Is there any books out there that teach how to start a ebay business. I want to start one but don t know how. Also I don t have any inventory. Are there good droppshippers or something?

Couple of best books on how to start ebay business are:eBay For Dummieshttp://www.booksvariety.com/ebay-for-dumeBay 101: Selling on eBay For Part-time or Full-time Income, Beginner to PowerSeller in 90 Dayshttp://www.booksvariety.com/ebay-101-selHow to Buy, Sell, and Profit on eBay: Kick-Start Your Home-Based Business in Just Thirty Dayshttp://www.booksvariety.com/how-to-buy-sHow and Where to Locate the Merchandise to Sell on eBay: Insider Information You Need to Know from the Experts Who Do It Every Dayhttp://www.booksvariety.com/how-and-wherThe Home-Based Bookstore: Start Your Own Business Selling Used Books on Amazon, eBay or Your Own Web Sitehttp://www.booksvariety.com/the-home-basAll the best

Then don t do it.Succesful dropshipping takes skill. The margins are slim and if you start with a feedback of (0), you will simply spend a lot of money instead of making any.Start by doing a garage sale on eBay of items around your house. Have them ready to mail and do it quickly. If this is too much hassle, don t do it.

I would get in contact with a company called kwikbidz. They have inventory to help you get started and they do everything. Here s the link:http://KwikBidz.com/admin/I believe they say they are sanctioned by ebay. But it can t hurt to look into it. I know you can get electronics and things to sell on ebay and they mail it out. But check with them. Hope this helps. It wasn t for me because I sell odds and ends.

Why do shops have free umbrellas by the door? -

I see it all the time. When it is raining, shops like coffee places or hotels have a little bucket or can near the door. And then when people are going to leave, they just pick one up. They don t pay or anything. Don t shops lose money this way?

ha ha have you been nicking other peoples umbrellas ?

They aren t for people to keep they are for people to use and then return when it is no longer raining. It is a way to let people know that the do care about their customers and that they can come back again

lol

That s weird, I ve never seen it, but I would totally take one.

What are your thoughts on Ebay and Paypal? I used to use them years ago, I was ripped off so I quit.? -

Craigslist is cool, but people are cheap and rude. Ebay and Paypal rip you with fee s and pretty sh*ty service, but you get what your items are worth! Tough call.... Also, ebay forces you to accept Paypal now don t they?

they dont force you to, its just strongly encouraged . since they are the same company they do rip ya, and as a seller there is hardly any protection for you.

Unless you have local pickup option, you have to use PayPal now (no checks, MO s, etc.). They were supposed to have other competing payment processors available, but don t know if that has happened yet.eBay and PayPal do not rip you off with fees; they charge for the services they provide as any business would. Since you were last there, they have instituted many new protections for both buyers and sellers. A lot has changed. If you don t make insured and confirmed/tracked shipments an option but rather require them on all transactions, you have the protection you need to prevent bogus did t get it claims. You don t get bad checks or forged money orders.Specify complete terms in the auction clearly, including any return policy so they know up front (if you allow returns) that they will be responsible for the return shipping costs, you must receive the item back in good condition and won t refund until it arrives, and you will only refund the purchase price and not the initial shipping costs. You re still going to have the hopefully rare misunderstanding but these things will happen.Or, just stay with Craigslist and put up with the bargain shoppers. I ve found after years on both eBay and Craigslist that people tend to reflect the attitude I approach them with. There will always be the unrepentent jerk out there, but I don t let that keep me from moving on.

I ve used eBay for buying and selling and so far have not had a bad experience. All buyers and sellers seem really friendly and the benefit of Paypal is that you don t have to give out your bank details to any of the people you trade with. I would highly recommend eBay.
