Starting a tutoring business? -

I m a high school student and i wanted to start a mini tutoring business at my home. It s for little kids in like 1st to 6th grade. I want to make a small little add that i can drop in people s mailboxes - nothing too detailed, just basic info where they can contact me if they are interested. What should i put in my ad and how can i make it really persuasive? so far all i got is: Tutoring and homework help for your child!Golden Hills Tutoring gives your child an academic environment where your child can get help in school and develop skills in all subjects.Available for all children in grades 1 C 6 in subjects including Mathematics, English and Grammar, Basic and Earth Science, American and World History, and Reading Comprehension.Only $5 an hourFor more information contact ****** at ******** or ******** (i left out my contact info for privacy reasons)Is this good or do you think it needs improvement?

The ad looks good to me but I would recommend that you mention that the tutoring will be performed by a high school student so that prospective clients know up front and won t be blindsided...expecting to find professional instructors and finding, instead, the neighborhood teenager. There s nothing wrong with a high school student tutoring elementary school kids but you want to let the parents know up front. You might change the first line of your ad to read High school student offers tutoring and homework help for your child . I would also recommend that you consider charging more than $5/hour for this service. If you are worth $5/hour then you are certainly worth $10/hour. $10/hour is not prohibitively expensive for parents who are willing to pay for tutoring services for their kids. If the business proves to be succesful you should consider raising your rates to $15/hour. $5/hour is way too little for this type of service. Good luck with your new business.
