Starting a small clothing store business? -

im trying to start a small clothing store in my home town that is slowing growing. any ideas on how

here s how:1) First you need to pick the demographic your store will attract in off the street (the age group of potential customers)2) You have to name it so it brings them in and brings them back3) you must focus on people who can afford to look good at any cost4) you need to go to the reference desk librarian and ask them what book they can recommend that will start your business education so that someday you can open a retail store. Once you have learned all the legal processes, how to, where to and what to do, you can then start to worry about either designing your merchandise and having it made for your store or buying from companies specializing in retail garments. In LA ,New York and Chicago is what is called the Fashion Mart it is a series of buildings showing all the national and international manufacturers of clothing that is available to buy for retail sales. There are also conventions all over the world geared into all aspects of garments showing, previewing and selling entire lines as exclusive (if you can afford an exclusive) the thing is you might think you are ready but are you? how much experience do you have working in a retail store? doing all the junk work, cleaning, counts orders, reorders, unpacking, display and all the way boring waiting for the next customer. Then when one does walk in, do you know how to treat them, elevate them, give them the feeling that they are the only person in the world and that your store exists for their pleasure? do you have experience? get some and learn all the ropes as a store assistant manager then a manager then with experience you can easily find investors if you know what to do and how to get it done you might have a chance if you don t? no one cares about failures there are too many to care about. Be a success, it s your brain put in it what counts.

First, draft a good business plan. Consult with your local Small Business Administration (SBA) office in your area. This office will give you alot of good tips on where to go for financing. Target market is very important. You want to choose the right area for your clothing business. A course is offered at your local metro tech schools called, Nutz and Bolts to starting your own business. Take the course it offers a lot of good tips. Good Luck.
