Can you open a bank account in your name at age 15? -

i wanna open a bank account with or without parent signature to deposit my checks from my job each week. can i open an account?

Hello Jack, I hate to disagree with the children providing you the prior advice, but as a minor, presumably living in the United States, you are not legally entitled or empowered to solely enter into any binding contract, except for necessities of life which are unlikely to include a bank account. Some banks banks may not ask or request you falsely claim to be an adult, but until you are 18, you may not have a bank account in your sole name. An adult parent or guardian is necessary to open an account on your behalf and it can be in your name under the UGMA (Uniform Gift to Minors Act) and you would be free to deposit any check without any co-signature. I hope this answers your question.

You should be able to open a saving account, yes. You can use it to deposit your checks and withdraw the money as you wish. However, you need to be 18 to open a checking account, which you would use to write checks or have a Debit card.

Yes
