What kind of box can you use for USPS Media Mail? -

I need to mail some hardcover books that is about 5 pounds. I want to use Media mail. What kind of box can I use? I know I m not suposed to use the free priority mail box.

When I mail out books I just use parcel post paper with a piece of bubble wrap around the book. I find it s lighter that a box. But any box will do. There are no special boxes for media mail. I also use manilla envelopes for media.

as far as i know, they do not have a special box. you can put it in any kind of a box or envelope.i believe only the contents and weight are restricted with media mail.i sold a lot of books and things on ebay recently, shipped media mail, i used boxes i had lying around. post office clerk never said anything.you do have to remove or block out any old addresses or restricted material warnings on the old boxes.reuse an old bleach or ammo box without blocking the old warnings, and you will hear about it.

You can use any type of packaging you want for USPS Media Mail. That includes packaging paper (brown paper), padded or bubble envelopes, or a regular box.The only thing you can not use is pre-printed USPS boxes for another mail class such as Priority Mail or Express Mail.
