You have a lot on your plate with a toddler and a new baby. If you start a business, you ll need to factor in the cost of childcare so that you re free to do what you d like to do.There s always an investment and risk of being in business. Think about how much you re prepared to invest and risk without worrying if you lose it all. This applies to your time as well. Time that you don t spend with your children is time that you ll never be able to reclaim. If you re in the UK, speak to your local Business Link about their free starting in business seminars. They re really good for helping you focus on what you want to do and sorting out what s involved. When we did one of their courses many years ago, only 3 out of the 20 of us on the course actually started a business. It s worth the investment of a day to work out whether it s for you or not.Once you know that you want to work for yourself, set out the investments in time and money required for all your ideas, weigh up the potential returns of each one and the ease of being able to attract your target markets. You ll find that some ideas are better than others. It helps, too, if you have a passion around what you choose to do. That can drive you forward when things are tough.Good luck!
