Since I did my gcse i went to college doing an intro course in hairdressing and an just finished an advanced and worked part time as a trainee hairdresser and luckily moved up each year as a professional hairdresser. I am now 19 and really wish to open up my own. iv researched the Market and have the right skills to manage and train two girls aged 16 but I want to move outfrom the current hairdresser I am in. Iv analysed swot analysis on competitors etc. But I m only 19 how the hell am I gonna get the money for capital, rent, council tax etc. I could get grants but I can t just set up the hairdresser with just a grant. I could save up but my salary cant cover the cost for even a year for capital. It could take up years to save. I v not got plans to go uni. Shall I wait until I have money? My uncle is an accountant and my aunt runs her own pottery cafe got good tips from them but they can t give me money. Plus my Aunt is in the brink of bankrupt
As a small business owner, you ll struggle to get a bank loan unless you can put some of your own money up frontYou certainly sound as if you have done your homeworkWhy not speak to Business Gateway, number in the phone book, as sometimes they ll support young people towards their first own business orWhy not become a mobile hairdresser meantime, as that will keep your costs down but you ll still have your own small business.
you could be working in a curent hairdressers for now, and start saving up in your bank, and start thinking of properties while doing your current job, then take it further step by step, dont give up.
