Do I need to get a license for a small home business? -

I am a college student trying to make some money by making aprons, purses, baked goods, etc in Oklahoma. If my income is very small do I need to get a license?

If this is a truly work at home. you will need a tax id number from the IRS.

It depends on the rules where you live. If you live inside or outside city limits can make a difference. In order to make baked goods to sell you have to have a health permit. You also need to contact the BOE to start collecting sales tax.

you doing this out of your home?if you are operating out of a business location, generally when you apply to rent a place, they will want the business license # before they will rent a commercial property to you

Depends on your city, county, or state laws. In San Francisco, every business needs to be licensed. ---Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II daysLaziness: resting BEFORE you are tired.
