Hey it really all depends on what and where you are DJing. The is no Liscensed DJ . There is only a liscense to do business as a DJ. I have been a pro DJ for over 10 years. I do not think you can DJ at any venue that serves alchohol if you are under 18 or maybe 21. You will have to check with teh establishment you wish to DJ at. Just get your music together, your equipment together, and alot of practice beat mixing, and you will be fine. If you are getting into club DJing, then you will find that it does not pay well. Some clubs have DJ s that spin for FREE! That is the nature of the business. Try and become a very diverse DJ in that you expand yourself to be able to DJ private functions such as house parites, birthdays, weddings, etc... This way, you can still spin, mix, and earn good cash! Don t steal other peoples mixes, then play them as if they are your own. peace-br
There is no such thing as a license to DJ in the US. However, you do generally have to be 18 to negotiate prices and sign legally binding contracts. There are a host of other business things that you can t do on your own until you are a legal adult. That being said, there are plenty of DJs who start DJing at schools, private parties, and local community stuff before they are 18. Really, you just need some skill and some equipment.
if your parents sign for you, any age!!
