The first step is to know the business. If you do not have any experience running a bar, I recommend you get some. I suggest at least 6 months behind the bar before you consider opening your own.Start looking for suitable locations to open your bar. Narrow it down by traffic patterns, parking, size and rent costs-do not sign a lease just yet. Next consult a lawyer to see if you qualify for a liquor license in that state and to start the application for a license if you do. Sign the lease when you get the go ahead from the lawyer. Then look up local resteraunt supply companies to get tables, chairs, glasses and bar stools. Contact liquor suppliers and set up a business account with them. For more help ask your local Small Business Administration office.Good luck.
