If my paycheck is 10% less than the normal salary this week. Shoudlnt the company tell me ahead of time why? -

The Company had announced a few days ahead of time that they are cutting salaries across the board by 5% and that the health insurance rate is going up a lot. This was going into effect as of Nov. 1st which is short notice. My check this week was exactly 10% less and only my check, no co-workers got docked and this is a pay period prior to the 5% cut. Shouldn t HR or the Company have to give me an explanation?

Sure, go and ask the HR. They should be able to explain.Although it is strange that your co-workers are willing to let you know what their checks are. most people will not do this.

I am not sure they have to give you advanced notice. Although until recently I didn t realize companies could cut your salary when you had done nothing wrong. As for an explanation - I would ask HR what is up. Could be a mistake.

Go to the HR dept and ask them why your check was less. It s possible there was a mistake made. If not, they can give you an explanation of what the decrease was.
