What requirements must I meet before I can offer my chili seasoning mix to the public? -

i want to create a chili seasoning mix in my residential kitchen and offer it to the public for regular sale. what do i need to do to make my kitchen legal for this? who do i need to contact for inspection? what is the cost? i use dry spices and other items that are bought at the grocery store and sams wholesale to make my chili seasoning mix. how do i make sure my ingredients meet the requirements? what requirements do i need to meet with reguards to what information is on the packaging of the spice mix? i am in knoxville, tennessee. thank you.

The health department is in charge of food. they will come and inspect your kitchen and tell you what if anything needs to be done to get it up to code. You will also need a business license. you get that from your town.Also, make sure you re area is zoned for home business or commercial use. Your zoning inspector could also shut you down if you re not zoned for it.

taste testing with the public and having no one puke or dieother than that, probably nothingprobably need ingredients listed on package - call your local county health dept? and see if there are any requirements
