Can anyone please help me!?!?! Starting my own coffee shop business?!? -

1) Do you need a college degree to do start your own local coffee shop?2) How old do you have to be to start it?3) How much could I make a year if I m successful?4) What all do you need to know?

Do you know anything about coffee? Do you really love coffee? Can you someday see yourself buying beans across the world to brew the best possible cup, or are you just hoping to make money through peoples caffeine habit. If the latter, choose something else, the world doesn t need another mediocre coffee shop with crappy frozen sweet rolls in a tray. And, it s hard to compete with Starbucks if you don t particularly care about coffee. If you really do want to open a coffee business, there are ebooks online and forums where coffee shop owners talk shop. You *must* find out what is profitable and what has lower margins or you ll sink all your startup money into the wrong places. Learn absolutely everything you can about the business before you spend your first dime.

If I were you, I would first check out this site http://sba.gov, the Small Business Administration, for info on starting your own business - you ll need to lay out a business plan and apply for a small business loan. As far as I know, no, you don t necessarily need a college degree and age shouldn t be a factor. A college degree may be beneficial to you in terms of understanding the finance, marketing, and account aspects of the business, but certainly isn t a requirement. I m not sure if you ve given any thought into uniforms if you happen to open up your own business, but if you haven t, you should check out SharperUniforms.com. They have some really great fashionable, yet quality and durable uniforms at great prices. You can even have the uniforms embroidered with your company s name too.http://www.sharperuniforms.com/Hope this helps and best of luck to you!
