How do you get your e-bay parcels dispatched? -

when you sell frequently on e-bay does that mean you go every day to the post office to find out the postage cost to send out parcels? which postage way do you use i.e couriers etc? I am based in London, UK

I use the Royal Mail. Just get yourself a small set of scales and weigh your items and find the price from Royal Mail sitehttp://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2Add enough on to cover your envelope/jiffy bag/package box etc.Just be aware that there s a postal strike on at the moment. e-bay have given advice about the strike...with suggestions of alternative couriers.Good LuckAndy

I go to the post office everyday. Items i sell over 5.50 go 1st class recorded, and under go 1st class standard. Recorded most of my items cost 2.36 and most standard items cost 1.81. If you have windows vista you can download a postage calculator that sists on your desktop, which i find handy for international postage, however most items cost 1.21 or around 5.50 recorded. If your going to use a courier for larger items try and find an independant firm rather than a large one, cost is usually less.

If you are going to sell frequently buy a cheap Kitchen Scale for light items and a cheap bathroom scale for heavier ones. Probably a couple of quid each from some where like QD. Then pop into the post office and get a copy of the postal rates leaflet which will be on a display stand somewhere. You are then equipped to work out postage before you list.If you are going to have heavier items log on to either of the following sites for very cheap, yet very reliable, door to door courier services. Both have an on-line instant quote page.parcelflight.co.ukparcel2go.comI have an ebay feedback of over 1000 and use these door to door courier services frequently and have never had a problem.PS I rarely use Royal Mail next day special delivery, it is expensive and rarely justified.

If you sell a lot you could get a trading assistant, you would pay them a small amount to package and send your items out for you. Another option is drop-shipping you just need to order when the customer pays you and they will send it out.
