There is a way on how to compete against bad illegal workers , and that is the responsibility of you , when you have clients you tell them the pitfalls of illegal workers being in their home, who is responsible for their taxes , oh yeah they are, and how do you know who those people do they criminal background checks and drug test like your employees do ?tell them it can be a great risk legally and safety wise to let total strangers who are not legally here to enter their homeand then say I hope you do not have children , this one story , I cannot even say oh boy then tell them why they should stay with you , you never steal, all background and drug test, bounded and insured, and good american workers looking to turn this country around.there you go
This may sound odd but here goes. Go after richer clients who don t quibble about the price. Clients who are always concerned about your price point will be the ones most likely to bail on you and hire cheaper help.You might try bidding on government contracts where all your workers need security clearance and background checks, jobs the cheaper workers have no access to and/or who won t pass the background check.I m reading a book called The 4-Hour Work Week and he explains this concept a lot better than I can. Your local library should have a copy.Basically, 20% of your customers make up 80% of your income. And 20% of your customers cause 80% of your problems. Often, they are not the same folks. Send the INS donuts until they are your friends.Then have your friends arrest them.Publicize businesses that hire illegals, the the backlash work its magic.Or just charge $9.50 an hour yourself.No need to worry about taxes at that level, you don t earn enough for them to ammount to much.
