Where do you get boxes? You can get them from the post office or buy them from a store that sells packing/packaging supplies.Where do you take them to ship? To your local post office, FedEx, UPS, or whatever other shipping carrier you choose. How do you label them? Same as a letter. Your (return) address on upper left of shipping lable, the ship to address in the center. Surely you have seen packages that have been mailed before, to know what that usually looks like. If not, save labeling for when you get to the shipping point and someone there can help you.How much will it cost? Depends on the size, weight, and destination of the package in question, as well as what shipping method (speed) you choose, and if you add any extras such as insurance, delivery confirmation, return receipt, etc.
I pre-weigh my items to the zip code farthest from. CA, as an example. But after the mailing I make a list of the items and the cost to the various zip codes using my PO receipt since they itemize everything.Postage cost depend on zone and weight of the item. You can get postage charts at your PO.You can get boxes anywhere, any size. Just don t go to the liquor store. The PO won t allow you to use them, at least not at my PO. You can also get boxes from those recycling bins you see out and about. But get there tward the end of the week, before they are emptied. Sniff them for odors though, or watch for what came in them as a tip off to any kind of odors.Watch as you re out hopping in various stores. You ll sometimes see where one of the shelf stockers has folded down boxes. See if they are the size you need. They ll let you have them most of the time. Try the dollar stores for smaller boxes.Copy and paste the name of your winners to wordpad on your puter and print them out. Then cut them out and tape or glue then on your parcels.Or print name and address by hand in pen, or if the package is large enough use a sharp point red marker.
Post office has boxes, or any shipping store.Obviously, you take them to the post office or a shipping store (FedEx/UPS partner).Put address on the box like you would on a letter.Cost is dependent on weight and speed.
You do all of this at the Post Office. They have packages/boxes, they can pretty much walk you through it if you ask. It isn t hard. Just go to the post office, grab a package and say, I want to ship this here.
