What impact do you think the current economic crisis is having on small businesses? -

What can small businesses do to help get through difficult economic times?

Small businesses will generally suffer unless they grow a niche clientele. Storefront businesses and ones with high overheads will be at greater risk as costs and taxation levels increase. However there are so many new great ideas out there, a shifting economy, and low borrowing rates that opportunities are good for a well researched business.

Small businesses are being hit the hardest by the current economic crisis in my opinion. Most have to lay off many workers if they had any and are having to put more time into their business by themselves which is leaving them less time with their family s.The only way I see that small businesses can get through these difficult times is to batten down the hatches and cut spending that is not essential even if that means having to let go of employees and do more of the work themselves. The more expense you can cut the better chance you have of making it through this,

Economic uncertainty is hard on businesses, but not on small/home business owners. There are huge opportunity because of people want to be buy things for themselves (to make them look younger and healthier). I am with the Freedom Project. We are a teaching and training company for home business builders. We are in business for over 53 years. We train all people at all experience levels to build a home based business with a #1 health and wellness company in the US. We are global in seven countries. We are truly a home business because all of our work are done at home (with a computer and telephone). Very little investment with huge franchise and business opportunity. Unlike others we don t do direct sales, carry inventory, home parties, or have to write or accept payments. All of it is done my the supplier company. We offer great travel incentives and opportunity to earn rewards toward a fully paid vacation. We have positioned ourselves to be in front of all trends. It s really tough to say. Naturally, it s probably easy to say extremely tough however, there are some small businesses that are financially stable. They may want to cut all unnecessary expenses. Those that are really not needed but wanted as a minor luxury item.

Regardless of the economy, small businesses are going to be gone in the future anyways. Wal-Mart is going to own everything.
