Does an artist require a business license if you are selling paintings on ebay, or an online gallery?I am a visual artist; I paint with pastels, and I want to sell my paintings and giclees in online galleries and on ebay. I am worried that if I make over a certain amount that I am required to have a business license or some other legal issue. I am also worried about how to keep my taxes affordable and legal.

Try and see if you can start off as a sub-contractor to them.Once this is done and the commercial arrangements are worked out, focus on the supply side. You can start with contacting smaller recruitment firms, build campaigns through campus promotions, etc. once you have built a good database, you should screen the candidates and make sure that you are sending in the right people for the interviews. If your initial work is good I see no reason why you should not be able to build your business. Make sure you have enough savings to manage you through the initial period. Best of Luck!
