What are some easy ways for a teenager to make money? -

i m 16 right now and i need some ways ta make some money besides working at a fast food restuarant or however you spell it.

Any neighbors need help around the house, cleaning, lawnmowing, snowblowing, yard work? I d love to have someone your age to help me with stuff.

If you ve got any computer skills there are lots of things you can do online. Some folks you age design backgrounds for pages on myspace, twitter, etc. If you want to cram on PSP, HTML, or one of the other web programming languages, there are many sites that match people for one-time jobs. I know one teenager who often turns $150 in a day or so that way.

Honestly you can get jobs anywhere. Perhaps a local YMCA/Community Center or stores like Best Buy or Staples which don t involve working at a Fast Food Restaurant.Even a tutoring job at perhaps Kumon works too =)

I m taking the course this week, and i really want to start babysitting. I m going to do it with my friend, and we re both thirteen (Very responsible, smart girls). But, we don t know how to get a job, and my mom doesn t want me to go to some random person house, but she can t find anyone for me to babysit?

What experience do you have taking care of small children? A much younger bro/sis? Cousins, etc? Do you volunteer to help whoever runs the nursery during church services at your church on Sunday? Help with small tots story hour at the public library? Whatever experience you have is experience you can use while babysitting, experience you can tout when looking for sitting jobs, AND a source of acquaintances and referrals for babysitting work. Then there are your neighbors, members of your church, clubs organizations you /or your parents belong to, your parents coworkers at their jobs. Always start with people you /or your parents know and who know you!BTW, the 2 of you back each other up so that between the two of you you can accommodate your regular customers. You do NOT both go to the same family at the time. People will think you are incompetent and need help, or else that you two will goof off together. Cross-references and cross-referrals help both of you and your regular families you work for. They know they can count on getting someone good when they need them, even in those cases where needs crop up at the last minute.

I did buy my cart in Indiana from Deb with Carts of America. I run my cart in Indiana and they like chili sauce but ours is bean based. you need all SORTS of things to do this aside from just a license ... first of all we don t know what country you re in, so we don t know which laws apply to you, but.. if you re in the states, you will need to have all sorts of permits, safety measures in your laboratory , pay fees to the government, have it approved as safe for human consumption and all sorts of stuff.. If you re going to put something on a person s body, you need to pay a lot of money to have the products verified as safe to use. you can t just start mixing stuff up in your bathroom sink, throw it in bottles and put it on the shelf at the grocery store. I know that is a fact, but... i don t know where to begin. i think realistically you could probably get away with doing it for a little while, but you ll need to make enough money quickly to be able to afford to pay the stuff when they catch you. that s not the best way to do business. it s better to do the research first and take care of the things before they come to YOU. let s say you have all of that in place.... the next thing you need to do is set up a limited liability company, then learn the specific differences between that and a sole proprietorship. then you need to put those things into action so you have true limited liability -which helps you in case your business fails or if you get sued. honestly a corporation is probably the BEST way to go but it costs more than you ll be making at first so not worth it immediately. once you have the LLC, you need to set up a bank account.. you need an accountant to help you handle your money. you may say i m good with money but... unless you know what a form K does then you need an accountant. one that will help with your business taxes, figure out gains and losses, business expenses vs personal, etc etc etc etc.. as far as the product yourself, you ll need to figure out how to get the supplies as cheaply as possible and how to turn a profit on them. you will need an advertising campaign (several) in order to get the word out there for your products. you will need to pay people to make the products and put them in containers and get ready for sale.. all said and done, you re looking at spending i m going to guess 15k per month between hiring 2 minimum wage employees, paying yourself, having an office, paying taxes, and all of the other crap that you have to do.... there are about a hundred things i m not listing here that you will need to pay monthly. long story short, it may COST you $7 to make 1 piece of product..... it may cost you 10... how much can you sell it for at WHOLESALE? if you sell to a retailer, they may SELL that product for $10 which means you re taking a loss by selling it to them for 5.... you re losing 50% at that rate... what i m saying i guess is... if you want to do this the right way and actually make a viable business out of it, you re going to need a LOT of start up capital, and a LOT of knowledge... you can start small, like maybe with a few thousand dollars and work from home for a while, but eventually you ll need to spend money to make money... i m mostly worried about all the crap you ll have to go through to legally sell makeup to the public though. and like i said, i don t know where to start. there are a lot of other aspects to this that i haven t gotten into, but this is a lot of info to start with.. good luck

The problem with HOAs is the same problem as the political arena. The people who gravitate to the boards are the very people who should never be in charge of anything. It is the most power they have ever had and it goes straight to their ego.

I don t think so. I live in a neighbourhood with a home owner s association, and I don t mind them. They keep the neighbourhood in order, they ensure that all houses continue to meet the agreed upon requirements.In our community you are not allowed to park on the grass anywhere, you are not allowed to have a fence in your front yard, etc. They are simple rules that keep our community looking nice.

They sure can be, however, in my HOA I feel it is very fair. it is $34.00 each month and it assures that the lazy boneheads will cut the palm trees so you can walk on the sidewalks with out getting slapped in the face by a palm tree that is not trimmed and that all the lawns are groomed. I also appreciate the fact that they sweep the streets once a month and that the local law enforcement is not the main law they work in partnership with the owners of the people in the HOA that means our community, so if we are having a problem with with theft, they with the help of the people in our area work together as a team to watch for the thief and the police are not slow to come when we call. They are awesome to us as is the local cable company. I love our small town and the deals our HOA has worked out. There are other HOA s in the area that are not so community friendly and active like we are.

Yes. I would never live where I was forced to do anything. NO ONE tells me how to live or what I can and can t do to/with my property. It is absolutely ridiculous that an organization would take a member to court because they put up a flag in the front yard and the pole was against the HOA s rules .
