You want to set up a business bank account, not only to keep your records separate and professional but to also be able to utilize merchant services and other services unique to businesses (such as sending invoices or paying via direct deposit which are offered with Chase)See number 8 in the following step by step guide to starting your businesshttp://blog.boyblu.info/2009/05/08/how-t

Set up a business bank account as it will help with taxation and keeping the receipts / expenditure details of your business separate from your personal savings.

If you are going to have your customers make the checks out to your business name, than yes, If they will be making checks out to your name, than no.
