30,000 casual staff employed by the Post office to beat the strike with no criminal checks is this correct? -

I m surprised to hear that the EXISTING staff are required to undergo CRB checks .. I ll be even more surprised to hear that they all passed Like many others, I have had rental DVD s go missing in the post .. and been to car Boot sales where ex rental DVD s have been openly on sale ...I live at the end of a Crescent with a similar name Road nearby (and closer to the Mail Depot) .. almost every month my mail is delivered to the Road instead ..As far as I m concerned (and I suspect a lot of other people facing a pay freeze and redundancy) the BEST way to sort out the Royal Mail is to fire the lot of them ...

Why should they have a criminal record check? You don t have one if you go to work in an office where you could be dealing with people s bank details. You don t have one if you go to work in a restaurant where you are handling people s credit cards. You don t have one if you are going to work as a plumber and will be entering people s houses. Why do you assume that anyone wanting to be a postman is more dishonest than anyone else?

It is not correct to employed illegal workers to replace staff who are on strike legally. However since Post Office service is an Public essential service the strike show not be allow or approved by the Labour Office in the first place.

People have been working for many years without the need for CRB checks so i don t see it as a problem..They will not be working with children, just delivering our mail and it will put the strikers in their place.............

CRB checks are only required if you work with children or vunerable adults. Putting letters through doors is not exactly a sitation whereby you could be a danger to the occupants.

Years ago in a saner world we didn t have CRB checks! Of course there are one in a million horrible incidents but mainly it is jobsworth creation by Brown to get more public sector workers who will vote for him!

you have to state whether you have any criminal charges filed against you, as in most jobs.
