If you needed a lawn mowed and saw a flyer on a trail would you be interested? -

Recently I made a flyer and am about to distribute it around local park/trail area telephone pole/etcIt has an image of a lawn with the title Lawn Mowing in (town)! Text is: - Lawn Mowing- Edges- Yard cleanup And at the bottom Call for free estimate (phone number) And below that I have many little paper slips with phone number people can rip out and take one so they don t have to write down the phone number/remember it in their head.I think this ad is sufficient though my dad says I should add a picture of me and the friend who are doing the lawn mowing to it. What do you think of an ad like this for a local lawn mowing/edges/yard cleanup service?

No, I would ask my neighbors, friends and workmates who they use and go with one of their answers. Yes marketing with a flyer might get some work but you need to give your current customers, friends and family copies of your business card to hand out to people they know. Word of mouth is the most effective form of marketing.*Edit*DO NOT PUT YOUR PICTURE ON THE AD. You re selling a service, not yourself so you want to show a nicely mowed lawn with good landscaping. Services like yours are about fantasy, you want people to imagine what you can do for their lawn. That means showing an ideal lawn.Another Edit***I would edit your text like this:It has an image of a lawn with the title (Name of Town) Lawn Services! Text is:- Mowing- Edging- Yard cleanup-Other services on request(or something to that effect)And at the bottom Call for free estimate (phone number) Oh and get business cards printed! They are more effective than a flyer. Give them to everyone you know, possibly go door to door in your own neighborhood and give them to your neighbors.
