If i register as self employed can i work in more than one field? -

On the online registration form it asks, What kind of work do you Well say i did network engineering and also graphic design can i put both, note that these are obviously totally different fields, but i would like to work in both, or do i need to submit 2 different online forms??Also it asks for a business name, can i just pick a name(after doing a search to make sure it s not in use), also if i set up a website does it have to be the same name as the business name i pick on the registration form, or could i have any website name and just use the business name i signed up with as my link to the tax return so to speak..

You can work in as many fields as you like. Each field will need a separate self-employed page in your annual Tax Return, but you only need to submit one Return. As far as HMRC is concerned, you can use what business name you like. You don t have to use same business name on website, although you would probably find this more convenient. If you don t notify any other business name, HMRC will assume you are using your own name, you don t have to trade under any other name.

1. you can trade under your name i.e. business name = Mr Joe Bloggs2. you can put the kind of work as network engineering and graphic design then you only need to fill one section on your return
