Yes... handling fees include, travel, packaging, supplies, labor, and in this case, storage while you wait for them to show up. BE FAIR though. Handling fees should not be excessive. You did not say what the item was or how much it auctioned for, but be very reasonable with your handling fee. Also, did you or your ad indicate that if it were to be picked up that there will still be a handling fee involved? If you did not state that, you may not be able to charge them... be sure they know the EXACT price they will need to pay (and ask for CASH only) when they come to pick it up. Do NOT accept a check, money order, cashiers check... only CASH, otherwise it is possible that you will be out the product AND money AND you will have insufficient fees charged against you!

Is it fair to charge a handling fee on an ebay item? -
the buyer chooses to pickup rather than ship, Its Tuesday and they said they will be picking it up Friday. They are from a state over, I am definately trying to be fair, obviously i want opinions on this.If any extra info is needed please ask and I will fill in, if I missed anything!Thanks,Matt
