How to start a University?? (read before you answer)? -

I posted this question before and got lots of fluff telling me not to do it... I m TRYING to write a business plan and plan out how to start a college, and PLAN OUT how it d run (a scenario for good and one for bad) for the first couple of years... I NEED TO KNOW the steps involved in start-up and I NEED advice on what to search for to find a company that does this full time (a firm that starts colleges/universities for others and gets paid in a percentage or for a fee, etc...)...NOTE:If you don t know, then don t answer, because posting an answer for the points means that you are cheating points and I m not getting my question answered, but Y!A will still make someone pick a best answer, and if ALL of the answers are IDK or something to that effect (or don t do it ) then it was a complete waste of time, wasn t it?

I do know that you would need to talk to the education board, and i do know that it will take sometime (years even) but im sure there is a way. I would try asking around on other sites because i honestly don t think the average person on yahoo will have any clue on this subject. But best of luck to ya! PS. If i can help anymore or find a company willing to help could i get a free schollarship when it oppens? Lol

First, talk to your state department of education. You need to be accredited. THEN you look for a campus site, add buildings and stuff if necessary. THEN add equipment, hire teachers (with thorough background checks), staff (admissions, admin, custodial, security, maintainence). Then you recruit students through advertising campaigns (TV, newspaper, brochures / flyers, etc.) and hope you get enough students to run even. :)

get a plan of study together. get accredited. get a facility faculty and staff. get people to buy stock. get a website going(i can help you with that when your ready, im a web designer) and advertisement. in my opinion you should open a community college first then go for a university
