What should I do about this ebay buyer? -

I put my laptop up on ebay and it s been up for a few days and has a few bidders, but I looked in my email and there s two very interesting ones... one guy is offering me 600 and the other is offering me 800 straight up with shipping fees included and everything!!! She said to just send my paypal account/money request. So .....how do I go about that? do I just send her the money request and still keep up my ebay listing? or take the listing down and then do it? or what?

Firstly I would be wary about accepting any of these offers. Have heard of to many scammers doing smiliar things. If it were me, Id thank them for their interest but seeing as it wouldnt be fair to the other bidders/ watchers you will let the listing run its course. They are of course welcome to bid.Anyway in answer to your question, you will need to cancel all the bids first revise the listing to add the buy it now feature. You would also need to advise your potential buyer what you plan to do so they can buy it before someone else comes along bids. Also if you buyer requests that you send it to Nigeria, Romania etc 100% scam

Thanks. I ve just let the auction go through, since I ve ended up getting a billion emails like that one... and like you said one guy wanted it sent to Nigeria AND MY PHONE NUMBER! ahh! Report Abuse

I agree with fourleafclover. Most offers like that are from scammers who will request for items to be shipped to a different address like Nigeria. It would be best to do the sale through eBay. If you receive an email from them telling you that the payment has been sent, confirm it by logging in to your PayPal account directly on the PayPal website. Don t ship until you confirm that payment has been credited to your account and only ship to a verified address or to the address registered on their eBay/PayPal account. To know more about internet scams and how to report it, you may go to this page: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspxAll the best,Haydee
