It does not matter how many systems you have.I have 3 PCs and I use three 2 Mbps flat free reliance connections, paying RS. 4999 for each connection monthly. I have a small ad agency production house and I have to transfer such huge files and so such connections.I have a long experience of internet broadband usage.First you find out what will be your internet speed usage, for normal work there is no point in taking a 1 or 2 Mbps connection for each system. And if you though that you will take 1 Mbps or 2 Mbps for 17 PCs, then whatever you do in the internet, whether cyber cafe or any other business, everybody will be very much frustrated with the connection. As the entire speed will be divided by 17 PCs and will become 58Kbps or 117Kbps, respectively. As per TRAI and DOT, any speed below 256Kbps is not considered to be a broadband connection.Though I suggest, your minimum speed should be 256kbps for each system. Mbps connections for each pc is only necessary if you are tranfering files of 50 Mb each and more. I also suggest in long term and business matter, its always the best to take flat free plans. So, if you have 17 systems, the 256kbps x 17 = 4352 Kbps = 4.352 Mbps.RELIANCEIf your monthly usage is 10 GB and your business is in a metro, then take the 10 Mbps Data Transfer Plan of Reliance broadband at Rs. 2,499 and multiples of it. Per PC, speed will be around 588 kbps. Extra will be Rs.0.90 per MBor else you can opt for two 2Mbps and one 400Kbps connection at [Rs. (4,999 x 2) + Rs. 999 = Rs. 10,997. Total speed 4.4Mbps and For each PC, the speed will be 258Kbps.BSNLUnlimited Home Plans: Home UL 750Speed = 256 kbps, Monthly Rent = Rs. 75017 PCs cost = Rs. 750 x 17 = 12,750.But in BSNL for each connection you have to take telephone and bears its cost also.TATA INDICOM BROADBAND (prices for Kolkata) Post Paid PlansVolume Plans : Lightning PlansLightning 10 Mbps for 10GB monthly usage at Rs. Rs 1,950. Extra Rs. 0.4 per MB.Unlimited Plans: Infinity PlansInfinity 384 at 384Kbps for Rs. Rs 1,000 + Infinity 4 Mbps PLUS at 4Mbps for Rs. Rs 9,000. Total speed = 4.384Mbps. Per PC speed = 257Kbps. Total Cost = Rs.10,000.The combination of taking two connections is better than taking one connection is because if one connection fails, your business will not stop dead. It may become a little slow, but still run, till the failed connection is repaired.Taking a combination of two different companies is even more better.Once you have decided what connection you will take, you will have 2 options to distribute the broadband connection among the systems.1. Attach the stronger connection s main line to the most important PC and from there one distribute to the important PCs.2. Attach the less stronger connection s main line similarly to the rest of the systems. The primary PC is both the options have to be always switched on to run the other PC s broadband connection. The best way, low maintenance and cheap way to setup this connection is obviously by LAN wire. You need a Ethernet / Lan Card (each Rs. 300) in each system and the LAN Wire. If you can have a separate PC with a Hub and switch to run the entire arrangement, its better. Then you connect your 2 main connections to these PC and then distribute. There is also a No-Wire Route. But what happens most of the time the network sale people dupe the need and the financial gravity of the small -mid scale businesses. They claim Wireless connection is the best connection. The only reason is that the salespeople will benefit that is make huge profit out of it.The wireless connection will only become good if you are using NEC, DLink Routers (good ones begin from Rs. 5,000 and above) and attaching Wireless LAN Card (each price at Rs.1,000) in each of the system. Apart from that you need a separate PC with a Hub and switch to run the entire arrangement. For you case, to go wireless with less repairs, cost will be around Rs. 1,00,000 including labor cost. You will need atleast 4 Routers. If you can spend this much, go wireless.
first u know for all the plans (1 mbps or 2 mbps ) the plan speed is the maximum speed and for all the plans the minimum speed is 256 kbps so even though u have 8 mbps connection u may be at a speed of 256 kbps and u cant question the isp, in the angle of cost speed bsnl is good but service is ?? airtel service is nice but its costlier than bsnl,in case of reliance many of my friends say about its network problem ( weaker signal in many places) bcoz its wireless
