Trying to start a kids clothing business. Right now, Im working on a business name.? -

I came up with the name Double K Kids wear after my two daughters. Both of my daugthers names begins with the letter K. Is this a catchy name for a kids clothing business?

I did a preliminary Federal trademark search on that name I d recommend speaking to a trademark attorney about this mark http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regse before proceeding with that name.Trademarks can be names of products or services, logos, slogans, packaging and even sounds and smells. In essence, a trademark can be almost anything that is used to identify a particular product or service. Registering a trademark grants the owner exclusive rights to the mark within the specified industry. Hope that helps! I wish you much success happiness in all your ventures!

Robert Half/Accountemps and Office Team BEWARE they do not pay? -

I want to vent this out because my dearest girl friend has been without work for a year this staffing agency has a monopoly in the work force and they pay you very low wages and charge 3 times the amount to the employers. Its a total scam. Also she worked for them a temp position and she did not get paid for a full month then they cut the hours and it was just horrible. She is a single mom with two little kids and this staffing company ripped her off to the point she could not afford her rent and was going to get evicted. I gave her the money but want the word of mouth to spread to BEWARE OF THESE 3 STAFFING AGENCIES THEY ARE ALL TOGETHER AND WILL RIP YOU OFF!

How to open this product? -

So I bought a new skincare product today, and it s my first time using it. I believe it is this product. http://www.cleanandclear.ca/en/prod_detaIs there a special way to open it, or what? Because I ve twisted and turned and it won t open. When I press down on the thingy, nothing comes out. I have to resort to taking the whole tube-stick thing out.Returning it isn t really an option...

I m not sure if I can explain this, but I ll take a shot at it.There are two things that turn on that product. The first one is connected to the tube. When you twist that one, it opens it up, and you ll see the moisturizer in it. The second thing is connected to the first thing; it s also purple and that s what you press down on. Twist the second thing counterclockwise till it stops you. Then turn it back to its original state, and press down. It should come out now.

I am in full time employment and thinking of starting a small buisness and staying employed would i still get? -

the dole if i was left off or would my new buisness effect me. this new buisness might have no turn over

You would have to provide copies of your accounts details of your BUSINESS (learn to spell/type or your chances of success in business is probably minimal!). Your case would probably have to be referred to a Decision Maker, to see whether you would still be classed as in self employment, so yes, it could AFFECT your chances of claiming Jobseeker s Allowance.

You d really need to ask the job centre as you ll only get JSA to begin with if you are actively seeking work, However the job centre have business advisors who help people starting up in business and do offer business training and some financial supportas long as you are not employed elsewhere. My husband was made redundant, signed up with Job seekers and New business start up and got JSA for a while, when he was working les than 16 hours a week at his new business, and some other financial helpStart on your business plan and then make an appointment with a business advisor at your local job centre

I m sorry, I have no idea

Which of these is a good name for a retail clothing company Im starting? -

Retail clothing company names usually have nothing to do with the products, brands, or industry at all. Unless it s the company that carries the brand itself, but in this case it will be a retail clothing company not a brand. For example Hollister carrier exactly that, Hollister clothing, but that s not my case. These are some I ve come up with. It s like naming a baby.King CityChic CityRetro ArenaGeneral EcstasyMc StylesIt s so hard to choose and come up with them. Do you think any of them were good at least? ANY names you can recommend? Thanks!

The first two are good - who is your demographic? Retro Arena is good, but may limit you if retro goes out of favor again. The last two are just bad. Good luck!

I like General Ecstasy. Also ignore that person spamming the phishing scam link and report that mofo.

Retro arena sounds good, if thats your theme... all the other names don t sound so good to me..... All the best.

How would somebody approach a huge retail store about selling their product? -

This question is on behalf of a friend. She designs and makes a variety of girl s accessories, sunglasses, earings etc... At the moment she sells to a number of small boutiques and independent outlets but is considering approaching larger retailers. What would be the usual route for someone in her position? And no she does not want to go on Dragon s Den.

She needs to make an appointment to see their buyer, or the buyer(s) for the relevant departments, eg the girl s accessories buyer. This is going to be tough. Buyer s are innundated with such requests so you are going to have to persevere. When you have an appointment you need to be credible. All the things the Dragons look for on TV will be relevant. You need to have samples of the goods, with appropriate certification. You need to know what the price will be and what discounts you will offer for bulk purchases. You need to be sure that you have the manufacturing in place if an order is placed for a large quantity. You will need to be prepared for large retailers to expect to pay up to 90 days after delivery (so you need a good bank loan to cover cash flow). You need to be able to deliver where and when they want, possibly in packaging that meets their requirements. You also need to be aware that most of these decisions are made months if not years in advance. Buyers are likely to be looking at next summer at the earliest. Finally, and probably most importantly, make sure you get a proper contract / written order before you commit any unnecessary expenditure. Large retailers (and small for that matter) do not make gentlemen s agreements. If there s no name on the dotted line they will have no problems in leaving you in the lurch.

Where can I can recruite multicultural people for starting a business venture? -

I have an idea for a Web-based business, but a major part of the concept requires two things that seem very hard to find:1.) People willing to work for free at first (including me!).2.) People from a wide variety of countries, who can help with the service I am looking to provide.I went to Craigslist to try and find a way to advertise for people interested in this project idea I have, but Craigslist requires you to only advertise jobs is you can pay money upfront.Also... before anyone says it, I know, I know... it is hard to get people to work with you if you can t pay them. But I ve done work on spec before, and gotten rewarded down the line. I know others like me exist, who are willing to expend a bit of effort without an immediate reward.Any helpful suggestions?

You could start with college students. Either those who have recently graduated, or those who are still in college. This is the group who might be conducive to working for little or no pay in return for valuable experience. It s also easier to find multicultural talent on a college campus.

House cleaning business? -

my friend and I are going to be cleaning houses on the side and I need alittle advice. We don t have any professional experience but we are 26 and 29. I am making a website and have been posting on craigslist. We need some advice on how much to charge and some more different ways to advertise. I know about flyers, eventually we will have business cards, are there any more websites I can advertise on? I live in South Jersey, How can we turn the fact that we don t have any references from a negative to a positive?

A great way to generate a lot of business is to knock on doors and let people know you are starting a cleaning business in the area and you would like their help and would they mind if you ask them a few questions. Then have a question sheet with 3 to 5 questions on it like If you had someone to come in and clean your house what would be some of the things you would look for in a cleaning service? and What day of the week would you prefer someone to come in and clean your home? just ask a few questions to help you know what people want, but the main purpose is to meet these people in person give them your card. People are way more likely to do business with people they have already met. Also get email address and let them know you will be emailing them to let them know of specials you will be running if that would be OK? This will generate a lot of business. When ever your slow send them an email with a special cleaning price on windows, blinds, ect. If you keep your name in front of them regularly by email when they need cleaning are knows someone that does they will remember you. Because a lot of people loose your business card but if you keep your name in front of them by email they will remember when they need you are a friend ask them if they know any cleaning service. As far as references be honest and tell people you are just starting so you don t have business references but you can give them some personal references. And to generate business at first give a good discount and let them know you are giving them a good discount because they are some of your first customers and you need some good references. Just be honest with people and big things will happen.Hope this helps! If you need more help just email me at kcharlie@ymail.com
