Can a 13 year old bow own a lawn mowing buisness? -

As in how do I get people to ring and book like a ad or somthing by the way I am 13 and I want to make money by mowing lawns am I allowed to do that and what are some ways I can get people to ring me and ask for a job

Print up some fliers using a laser printer(be sure to spell check) and go door to door around your neighborhood. Youths have been doing that for years. The more services you offer, the better your chances of getting business(ie. mow lawns, rake leaves, weed whacking, hedge trimming, etc.). Do your best and ask your customers for references so you can show future customers that you don t slack off. Also, be sure to keep advertising with your fliers every 2-5 weeks so people don t forget about you and so they don t think it was a one time offer that you gave up on.As for an actual legal business entity, you d need to get licensing, tax ID, permits and some other official stuff taken care of through your state. Since you are a minor, it might be in your state law that you wouldn t be able to operate power tools until you are 18. There might be exceptions for agriculture-related businesses. Your state s licensing/permit office would be a good place to start asking, followed by your state s department of labor. Here is a good reference showing the steps for small business planning:http://www.sba.gov/smallbusinessplanner/Good luck!

Business Licenses/Tax? -

what do you need one if you create a website that involves money?for example: tax forms, don t you have to do some tax thing?stuff like business licenses, etc.thanks :)

In the US, you will need to talk to the Department of Revenue for your State to determine what licenses are required. It is based on the product or services you are selling. In North Carolina, for instance, contact www.dor.state.nc.us.If your business is based in a state with sales tax, and the product you are selling is taxable, you will need a Sales Tax number assigned to you, and to complete tax filing on a regular basis, with a deposit of the collected sales tax on a regular basis.Hope this helps!(You may contact me by email for further assistance.)

Im a 15 yr old boy and have decided that I want to start a business what should I do and where should I start? -

I have alot of ppl who are interested in working for me in order to make some money, but what should I do in order to make some good money so that I can not only pay my employees well, but by having more employees, will on my own make a lot of money. What are some ideas to help me get started as I m in a bit of a hole.Any help would be much appreciated :)

You re going at it BACKWARDS. You first identify a NEED that you can fulfill, then you form a business to fulfill that need. If all you have in mind is make some money , you don t have a business. You just have greed . ---Kasey C, PC guru since Apple II daysWhere there s a will... I want to be in it.

I admire your motivation at such a young age. The first step is to understand that you can t go into business with the goal of paying your employees well. You must first think of what is best for you, what you like doing and what you re good at and the rest will follow if you do the proper research. It depends on so many things and the only way to learn is to start small. My advice is to start with a very small business first with no employees just to get your feet wet and then you can be more prepared to move into other things when you are ready. For example, a dog walking business or cutting lawns. Another way to get your feet wet is to volunteer at a place where you can learn how a particular business operates. I m assuming that you don t have a work permit yet at your age but when you do, work for a business that you would be interested in having one day. Preferably one where the owner will be nice enough to show you the ropes and the business has a reputable history. Good luck and I wish you well!

wow, for one, i admire you for having the interest at such a young age!first, assess what kind of business would you be happy with..does it have something to do with crafts, food, service, et cetera. second, how much are you investing in it?third, where will you put it up? make an inventory or a rough study as to what your community needs. who are your probable consumers? know what they want. can you provide it for them?in our place, there are many small restaurants being opened and closed in just a few months.. though food is a need, probably the enterpreneurs overlooked the fact that not all may be willing to spend on first class service, et cetera..i think those are the basic things..besides loading up on stuff from business mags and books.good luck!im interested in small business myself. ;-)

I would like to open a shop. Can you give me an idea of what I need to do? -

I have a bit of money and I d like to open an old fashioned sweet shop.I have NO idea how to get started, although my family do, but I don t want to be the only one not knowing what needs to be done? How would I go about getting a place to put my shop? What kind of people would I need to work for me? (Someone to do finance maybe?)And anything else I d need to know to get started.

You need to first have a vision. You said you wanted it to be old fashioned. So figure out what you want in the shop and what types of sweets you want there. If you are making them you obviously need to hire someone to make them and if you are buying them you just need to find a supplier. You need someone to be at the store doing sales (cashiering), it is helping to have an accountant (you should not have one on staff though, I just meet with my accountant once a week and go over the numbers they have been taught are important, he tells me what things we should be doing financially to be more successful), then you want someone to do your advertising. You need to let people know why your shop is different and awesome (why they should go there) and if you are not making sales you will fail, so the sales tasks are the most important in my mind). As far as getting a place, I would talk to a commercial real estate agent to help you find a place. In the area I live, there is a company called Commerce CRG that specializes in leasing and purchasing commercial properties.I also have 2 people helping me build a website and make marketing materials (FYI)Good luck with whatever you end up doing.

How to create a website business plan? -

I know how to make a business plan but not in a website version. Do I add like all the details of each web page and so forth of what each button will do etc? Not sure exactly what to put down.

A website business plan is the same as any business plan. Treat the website as your product -- you will have to give the concept of your product, what are its target market, how you will reach this target market, how you will market the site, how big this market is, how this site will make money, cost and revenue projections, etc. Specifically- explain what the website is all about- how this website will be monetized and earn revenues- what content will you put in the site- what are your strategies to attract traffic- explain why this site addresses a particular needYou don t have to be as detailed as to describe each button -- though you can say your marketing strategies include adding viral and social marketing buttons, or if this is an ecommerce site, that you will do continous testing to determine the optimal color, placement and size of your Add to Cart button

There are a few ways to go about it , before you do 1) decide on the purpose of the website - what do you want it to do.. give information, sell product, sell information2) ask yourself how visitors will find your website - are they searching for you and browsing for you or are they directed there purposefully in some manner .From there, here are some suggestions 1) find websites that you really like browsing for whatever reason. No need to justify it. If you like it, print out a screenshot of it 2) find websites in your genre or function. If you are selling a physical product like a shovel, find another company selling a physical product - it can be the same area like a garden spade or something slightly different like furniture . Find the sites you like to browse through and get screenshots of those Use these for layout ideas If you want to plan it out, you can do a data/user flowchart. Basically at the top you have tne entrance page, from there draw lines to the other pages directly accessible from the entrance page. From there keep dropping down so you ll have an idea of general function and layout of your site. You should find that you don t have too many squares and too many rows, otherwise your site is too complicated. Good luckhttp://designmyownwebsite.net

1) Need to know what are you going to sell2) Find sites which are doing same or similar business,3) Pick up the best, and look into it. Save your time and cost in this way.4) Or find pros like seofounders.com they can help

How can i tell if a work at home website is legit? is this one good profitsmp.com? -

The site is most likely a scam. The title alone is very suspicious. A legitimate company would choose a name that promotes the company s business, and not something trying to reassure people that it is genuine, or legitimate or a big money maker.Just the title alone tell you it is a scam. So just move on, and be thankful you have good advice from here.

very easy just look for conatct info E mail Phone # s name and ask questions !LIKE is there Mentor s or someone to teach me how to do this ?IF they answer with there is E books and videos and a forum say BYE BYE !NO ONE can learn by reading E books or watching videos NOT even ME and i m experienced with 10 yrs and making money at home !NONE of these people in here posting affilite Links or thier blogs can provide YOU with what YOU need to learn !Best of Luck i hope at laest this info helps YOU !

You can check it up with Better Business Bureau - BBB a business monitoring body for home business.

You can always visit http://www.ripoffreport.com/ a lot of people who has tried work at home sites will write in there and tell others if this things are legit or not. Good luck

The best place to start is bbb.org. Stay away from sites like ripoffreport.com. If you do some research on how they make their money you ll see that they exist to extort business, not protect consumers. Stick with credible sources. If you can t find any info from credible sources the website may not be a scam, but definitely has no credibility.I can t say for sure whether it is legit, but in my opinion it isn t good. It seems to be another of those affiliate marketing systems . They are a dime a dozen and don t tell you anything you can t already get free. You also have to be an extraordinary marketer to make any real money with affiliate programs. A quick look at their site throws up some red flags. It says something about guaranteeing success. They can t guarantee success, because they have no idea how much time and effort you will put in. The site itself is pretty crappy and has another companies stock ticker. Maybe I m wrong, but it seems to me they just put that on there to dupe people who aren t paying attention into thinking that the stock ticker listed is theirs. There are a number of opportunities I know to be stable and legit. Email me if you want a list.

Can an employer make you do other peoples jobs without paying you extra? -

I was hired as a Golf Professional in Florida a number of years ago. A couple years ago I was called into the Human resource department and given a $2000 dollar check in back pay for overtime worked. Then I was required to punch the clock and was paid time and a half for every hour hour over 40. Now they have given me an extra job of running the locker room and put me back on salary without giving me any extra money? Is this fair? What are my rights?

Unless they ask you to do something that s not safe or legal, they can ask you to pull weeds if they want to.Is it fair?I don t know. But I do know there s some 12 million people out of work. And there s someone willing to take your place before the door shuts behind you.

You are really lucky to have a job. When you work for a company they can have you do whatever they want to as long as they are writing the paycheck. If cleaning the locker room is below you, you could refuse or quit.I would hang onto the job and feel good that I was working. They must have felt that you had extra time on your hands and could handle the extra work when you didn t have a client.I was put on salary once and the hours sky rocketed.Even if you are on salary ( 40 hr.s ) per week,There is still the matter of minimum wage.So if you are working over 40 hours, figure out your weekly hours and see what you are really making per hour.I went back to the hourly rate. They had me working till 10 pm at times.

to me it seems as if it is not fair i think mabey you should take it up with your manager but WARNING be nice about it and DO NOT seem to upset if you do he or she will get mad and possibly fire you. if that dosnt work then dont push it try to negotiate the usa s finance is getting really bad! good luck i hope this pays off! : )

Yes, they can. You can try to negotiate though. I wouldn t push it. With all the layoffs lately, I d stay under the radar. We ve had 3 layoffs in our department and I took on two of those jobs along with what I m already doing for the same pay.

You do the job you re paid to do. If your manager thinks this should be part of your job then it is.

It is their policyand yes it fair, which is why it is salaried.

quit or stay. Thems your choices.
