What is a classy/elegant name for a cleaning bussiness? What name would attract you ? -

specializing in office buildings, car dealerships

Stuck for ideas???? How about running a competition in your area through your local newspapers, or with local secondary schools/colleges etc to get all the locals to come up with a name. That way you get free PR in the local newspapers, school/college newsletters etc both announcing the competition in the first place and then announcing the winner, perhaps with a photo of you handing the competition winner their prize (which doesn t have to be expensive - how about an MP3 player for a tenner?) and if you get photographed with the winning name/logo being held up too then it gets it in front of people right from the start. then once they start to see your business up and running they will already be familiar with the logo/name etc and your business will have instant credibility. This is just an idea - adapt it at will!

If depends on your business attitude. Are you going to be a serious business or a not so serious one?Not Serious: Car azy cleaners!Serious: Hygex CleanersGood Luck!

how about Crystal Clean? (btw it s business not bussiness)good luck with your venture

Can anyone tell me if you are an employee for a company arent the employers spouse to...? -

make sure your needs are seen to...like, in the ladies there are no bins we wer doin a Model search the other day and the room we wer doing it in was like a frezzer, unless we work unbeliveable hard we wont get paid, is there anything we can do bout this? i dont think we are getting treated right!

OK, first of all, your employer s SPOUSE has nothing to do with this question. I think you re asking if they are SUPPOSED to do things.A bin in the ladies room would certainly seem to be a basic thing to provide, but I don t think it s illegal of them not to have one. Have you ASKED for one? As far as the room being like a freezer, again, there is no law against keeping a room cold, unless it was actually below board of health standards for your city or town. Get a thermometer and keep track of the temperature in your regular work area and see whether it meets local standards or not. If not, you have legitimate reason for a complaint. The part of your question that actually DOES sound illegal is where you say Unless we work unbelievable hard we won t get paid . Can you give more details about that? Do you work solely on commission? Otherwise, your employer must pay you at least minimum wage. Please explain what he actually does pay you, and why.

How do I sell something on ebay? -

i am 17 and BROKE! I ve tried applying for sooo many jobs, but none are hiring. So i ve just decided I ll make some things like jewlery or pillows or something nice, and sell them on ebay. Only thing Is Im unsure how I get the money from them and how to send it and everything. What do I do? Is it easy to get the money and send it? Someone give me easy instructions please! Thanks!

you ask ebay (: be like yo ebay lemme sell this sh^t real quick and they ll be like iight i got you! Nah im joking (: you probably believed me here is how Step 1 Decide what you re going to sell. Before you list an item, search eBay to see if people are selling it already. If there s nothing like it on eBay, chances are it s not a very good thing to sell because not a lot of people are going to look for it. If a lot of people wanted it, there would be a ton of people selling it. It s best to sell something that you can find a lot of on eBay. Step 2 Take pictures of your item. Obviously, the more pictures the better. The problem is that it takes a little while to take the picture, put it on your computer and upload it onto eBay. It also costs money if you advertise more than one picture. If you re selling something cheap, you don t need a lot of pictures. One will probably do. If you re selling a car, upload as many pictures as possible and tell people to contact you if they want more. Step 3 Choose your price. You want to price your item competitive. If someone is selling a camera new for $200, you could be selling a barely used one that you don t want any more for $120. People would be willing to pay less if they re not going to use it all of the time or they only want it for a vacation and don t want to trash a new one. Step 4 Pick a quick shipping service. Most people would rather pay more for a quick shipping service than wait 2-3 weeks for a standard service. Also ship USPS. They ship 6 days a week excluding holidays while UPS and FedEx only ship 5 days a week. Step 5 Allow returns. If you don t, people will think something is going on and wonder why. Charge a restocking fee of 15%. This way you won t lose money through your listing and PayPal fees. Step 6 Invest in a mini photo studio if you re going to be listing a lot of items. The pictures will look professional and they will also make the item look great. If you follow these steps, your garage will be cleaned out in no time.

Go to EBay s website (www.ebay.com) and on the bottom of the page look for site map . Click on that and then find Help Resources and click on ebay University . You ll find information there for selling on ebay. Good luck.

first, you have to take a picture of the item and you have to crate an account to eBay. second post your item on eBay and how much you want to ship it. then let the beaters bet.

you learn by doing,not asking

i think you have to be 18 to have an ebay account. but I m not sure, if that dose not work out try Craigslist

How can i check the amount of views I have for my auction? -

when I look at other auctions I can see how many views it has gotten. However I have 1 bidder on my auction so far ( so that obviously means that people have visited my auction) so why isn t it showing me the amount of views I have gotten for my auction?

If you go into your own auction page from your account, at the top it has an area with auction info. It shows the amount of page views your auction has had.

When does a hobby become a business? -

I am in the final stages of getting a business plan off the ground, and hope in the next few weeks to start producing a product to sell in my spare time. I have invested my own money, and don t expect much return very quickly. I am still going to work full time until slowly i can afford to drop a day if my business picks up. I am going to be working out of my friends shed, and marketing through ebay to start off. I have been advised that it should just be a hobby at first. My question is, do i need to register my business with anyone yet, does that make me self employed ? basically when does a hobby officially become a business? I want to avoid getting in trouble.

When you can earn an income from it.

You would need to apply for an ABN no. to register a business name. I don t believe this is expensive - just a formality. I would visit an accountant to get some advice to set up some basic bookwork. I don t think anything would be required until you actually start selling goods - Just keep all your receipts till then. Ps. Good luck!

Starting a small business? -

What are the steps that I have to take to start a small, at home, business? What are the legal things that need to be done? What do I do to copyright my business name and logo?

People with a creative, steady hand can use that talent to make a part-time income from a home calligraphy business. Do you have creative and artistic lettering skills? Do you have self-promotional know-how? Then why not start your own home calligraphy business part-time in your own home?A home calligraphy business is easy. You simply apply beautiful and styled hand lettering to products that will sell to customers. You can create a catalog of basic items to sell, such as framed poems and greeting cards. However, one of the ways that calligraphers make great part-time money is by creating custom products such as:Personalized greeting cardsWedding invitationsCertificatesMenus

Why would someone wanting to start a business wish to become a subway* franchisee? -

*subway (the sandwich shop)

I can t see why anyone at this point in the game would want to. The individual owners are making the smallest profit margins than ever due to the $5 foot long. I read in Newsweek that leaves a profit of 1.38 a sandwich, which is not a lot. If you sell 100 sandwiches in a day, you ve only made $138 profit for the day.On top of that, most small to medium size cities already have at least one, if not two or more. The internal competition coupled with external competition and pricing makes it a very risky venture.

A little birdy told me that her store sells roughly 60 sandwiches an hour during the busy hours of the day and anywhere from 20-45 sandwiches all other hours that day.. if your in a crappy location i might believe just 100 sandwiches in a day but around here its way more.. WAAAAY more.. Report Abuse

I want to be an at home medical transcriptionist. Where do I start? -

I don t even know who to talk to or where to start. I read it s possible to complete in 4 months at this one website but you have to be 18. I m 17 and have my GED. I think I could do it through Vo-Tech but it would take a year and a half min and I d have to go to classes. I was wanting to do it online. Who do I talk to and where do I start?

The top schools in MT have a 2-year course. I don t think you would learn much helpful information in a 4-month course. There is a guide to choosing a course of study, plus a LOT of other info on this career -- including jobs so you can see what s out there -- on the website below. Not affiliated with any school, just good free info.

Im starting my own personal training business and want to know whats better: sole or an LLC? -

Sole or LLC?

An LLC can protect your personal assets as long as you set it up and run it correctly. Consult an attorney with experience so you don t set yourself for failure. If you ever get sued, the opposing attorney will attempt to pierce the veil created by the LLC. If they can show that you are not setup or running your business according to the laws, your personal assets are fair game. NEVER mix your person and business bank accounts. I have mine at 2 different banks. I would suggest consulting your Secretary of State to see if they can make any suggestions based on your business type. The only time you will need the protection of an LLC, is when you get sued for more than your insurance will pay. Talk to your insurance agent about that. Talk to an attorney to get a contract that covers your butt against most frivolous claims. That way you can really only be sued for negligence or gross misconduct.GOOD LUCK to you.

I second both veronica and thompson above. Never run a business as a sole proprietor. There are nearly 50,000 lawsuits filed every day in the US and 1.2M practicing attorneys. And currently there are nearly 400,000 students in law school. We aren t becoming less litigious, we are becoming more litigous. I consult with clients every day about setting up LLC s. I am not an attorney, I am an entrepreneur who believes in capitalism and small business and our right to keep our wealth in the event of frivilous litigation. I offer clients a free 30 minute consultation to assist you with proper entity selection and formation. Let me know if you need assistance.

LLC, because it protects your personal assets from lawsuits.
