What system do you use to keep track of your business contacts? -

I would like a program where I can easily send clients e-mails, letters, form letters, take notes, keep history and other basic business requirements.

Mozilla Thunderbird provides the email and address book functionality. You can download Mozilla Thunderbird 2 free of charge from here:http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/doMozilla Lightning extension to Thunderbird has calendar and task management features. By installing this extension, you will have a full fledged Personal Information Manager (PIM). Lightning version 0.9 works with Thunderbird version 2 (it doesn t work with the new Thunderbird version 3).Once you have installed Thunderbird 2 successfully and configured it to work with your email server, you can download the Mozilla Lightning 0.9 add-on free of charge from here:https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderBoth these products are from Mozilla, the same company that provides the popular Firefox web browser.

Help starting a store in my town? -

I am trying to open a pet store in my town, but I m having trouble finding wholesale websites. Can anyone help me by directing me to a legit site? I have all the proper licenses, but every time I try to search online, everything is much more expensive than the prices I see when I go to stores! Much help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Ask the people who manage the stores. And look locally, people who own small farms in your area etc. Also if you re seeing the prices in large stores such as wal-mart or petsmart you re almost out of luck.Although I have heard of programs where the government lawfully has to cover the difference to keep you ably competitive with large enterpirses until you are able to sustain yourself.Look into that, because I know a large company was trying to take my friend s welding business out by lowering prices to where they were losing money because they could afford it and my friend took them to court.

Is it legal to cook things in your restaurant with store bought seasonings? -

Say I start a restaurant and my signature recipe is steak but my cooking method involves marinating it in something like a KC Masterpiece marinade. Is this legal or do you have to have the owners permission of that marinade?

You only need permission if you intend to use the name of the product in your advertising or to increase your sales of the product. If you call it a marinated steak you re fine, but if you say KC Masterpiece marinated steak or steak marinated in KC Masterpiece sauce you may want to make an inquiry about permission to the license holder of the KC brand.

if you can buy it in a store, it is legal to use

QUESTION about trademarking a name / infringement.....? -

If I were to name/trademark something but spelled out as if it were said in Japanese.. would that be infringement??for example cookie monster (ie: sesame street) ... spelled like kuki monsuta (.....not actual name in question but like i said just an example..)

I don t think it would be an infringement. Even a misspelt name (of English version) would be acceptable as long as you didn t provide the same goods and services as the original name. Even saying this, the Japanese converted name would still have no bearing on the original name so you could possibly get away with providing the same goods and services. One name I like is Macrosoftly. It refers to Visual Basic code rather than actual software or an operating system. I haven t registered it but the thought of it does inspire me somewhat.Business Name Registration will advise you if the name is not appropriate. You will possibly, but most unlikely, need to provide a different name if the name you have chosen has already been taken.

How do you market a toy design? -

I ve designed a neat interactive toy that has gained some attention and success on Etsy. I don t have the time to make lots of them, but I d be interested in refining the pattern and selling production rights to a toy company. How do I find a company and approach them?

Here are some book titles that are relevant:* Bringing Your Product to Market: Fast-Track Approaches to Cashing in on Your Great Idea, 2nd Edition by Don Debelak* Entrepreneur Magazine: Bringing Your Product to Market by Don Debelak* Product Idea to Product Success: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide to Making Money from Your Idea by Matthew Yubashttp://www.entrepreneur.com/article/0,46 C Entrepreneur s Marketing Tips for Launching a New ProductArticles:http://www.ezinearticles.com/?Small-Biz- C Small Biz Marketing Strategy: When to Launch a New Product by Otilia Otlacanhttp://ezinearticles.com/?The-Right-Way- C The Right Way to Launch a Product or Service, Apprentice Style by Jennifer McCayhttp://ezinearticles.com/?New-Product-La C New Product Launch Checklist by Bob CannonHope that helps! I wish you much success happiness in all your ventures!

Well, Yahoo or Google search toy manufacturing.Keep good records and date everything, Patent? Drawings, diagrams, ect. When dealing with large companies you probably want an patent attorney.Build a good potfolio, Art work and a good cover letter would work nicely to.Good Luck!!

Peter had 24 customers open an account in a month which is 60% of her goal. What is her monthly goal? -

Please can someone tell me the result and what the formula is? Thanks

The answer is 40 for the monthly goal.24 divided by .6I don t know how they do this in the newfangled math they do these days, but when I went to school, this is how we did it.

Will quickbooks take money out of my bank account if i record an expense? -

Alright, i m running a little side business and I downloaded quickbooks free to keep everything straight. However, I gave them my bank account number and added an expense because I owe something out. They ve deducted it from my bank account balance on quickbooks and i m just curious as to if they could access my bank account and actually take the money out. thanks!

well yes they can but it cannot happen without you setting it up. log in to your bank account to see if there is a transaction there.

Generally no unless you are using thier bill pay system.Just entering your bank account information does not put this into effect. The check register on Quickbooks is supposed to mimic what is happening with your real life bank account. The theory is if you pay a bill, you enter it into quickbooks as well, then you always have a track record and can see your available balance.
