If my magazine was to run a writing competition for poetry and short stories, what legislation applies? -

We would charge a small entry fee of ��3 - ��5 and there would be a cash prize (��50 - ��100) and publication in the magazine. I have looked at the Gambling Act 2005 and it seems that because it is a skilled competition (i.e. not just a phone in type thing) we would not need a licence, but is there anything else we would need? Many thanks! (PS we are in the UK)

You probably won t need a licence but need to check with your local city laws.

Is there any way to open up a free bank account for selling things on eBay? -

I don t know a thing really about ebay, so if someone could explain how to sell for me would be great, but what I want to know: Do you have to pay the bank to open up an account? or is there a way to open one up for free? eBay owns Paypal which can be used by buyers to purchase whatever you are selling on eBay. You can open a Paypal account which will need a bank account so you can move funds from Paypal to your checking account. If you have a checking account already, that will be sufficient.You will need a credit card in order to sell on eBay. eBay charges you to list your products and complete any transaction.
