How hours is a salary Execuative Director of a small 3 employee nonprofit orginazation work, required to work? -

This small non profit orginaziton has a executive director and two part time employees. Two of her friends on the board are insisting the director get a $500.00 Christmas bonous because she is sometimes required to work over 40 hours per week. This orginization survives by fund raisers, donations and seldom grants and is usually very low on funds..

I served as ED of a nonprofit for a year. I took no salary, only a $200 month stipend for gas and tolls. If one wants to serve as ED, money should not be an issue - in other words, you serve for little or nothing.I would not think much of an ED who demands for money. Their heart is not in the right place.

The sad fact is that most non-profit boards are packed with friends of the ED.If the ED is shameless enough to accept a bonus based merely on the fact sheworks more than 40 hours per week occasionally (which should not be unusualor unexpected of an ED), there s little you can do about it.If you are a funder or volunteer, you can make your displeasure known and transferyour efforts to a more deserving organization.

Opening a small accessories shop on Etsy? -

I was thinking about opening a accessorie shop on etsy.com. does anyone have any suggestions or opinions. Please Thank You

I have an Etsy shop and I think it s great. It s cheaper then paying for a spot at a craft show and it s a lot of fun. Like with any business venture, you have to put some work into it though. But as long as you promote your shop and update often, you can sell well. There are a lot of sellers who have sold thousands of items on Etsy.

No but I would not open an accessories shop online. You should try and promote you accessories at events and swap markets before you place them online. Now I have never heard of the site ETSY.COM but if you know allot of traffic flow through I would give it a try.

My wife bought some whole sale products to sale. How much should she mark them up? -

she is unsure how much to mark them up.she not trying to get rich over night but she wants a fair price for her investment.

I worked in retail for a number of years and can tell you that retail stores mark of the merchandise about 100%. This means that if an item cost the store five dollars they will sell it for ten. The profit margin isn t nearly so high though because of all of the overhead, cost of the building, utilities, employees, insurance etc. If your wife isn t paying that overhead she might use about a 30% mark-up to be competitive with the retail stores.

Ah, compete. Usually what people who sell stuff is see what the market value is. If people are paying 20 to 30 dollars for an MJ t shirt I wouldn t sell it for 10 or 30. If I wanted to unload the merchendise quick and profit less Id sell at 18 and undercut the competition. Or I would just keep it in the middle. Like 25.00. Also depends on what you call wholesale. Did she but 20 dozen or a warehouse full? Thats a factor in pricing as well.

she has to see what normal retail price is and sell it for less than that

How I can found a company to trust to work an surveys Internet make money? -

I like to make some extra money, but I m afraid with frauds .

The surveys are scams. Your opinions are not really worth much. You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies. You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job. These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as work at home because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

The simplest and safest way to find legitimate paid surveys is to join a paid survey membership site. A paid survey membership site will give you a long list of legitimate survey companies that you can trust and safely work with. They test and verify all of these companies in order that you can safely spend your time working with their surveys

First of all never be afraid in doing a business and if you have entered this line then there is no dissatisfaction you will win for sure given below are some sites which are famous in surveys try them and good luck http://dce0djtot3zfgl9lcdj016bt7r.hop.clickbank.net/http://302dckotn6u4gve2eixp-d499m.hop.clickbank.net/http://613afavvt8sfrmdd8gim0u6k1b.hop.clickbank.net/http://3ecdcgvit-zaqm6j9jw51ih5c5.hop.clickbank.net/

I am 24 and work full time but I found a site last year a friend recommended for making extra spending money online. It was free to sign up and has paid me every 2 weeks to my paypal.Pays in good dollar amounts, Not pennies.Even pays you when you sign up. I get to pick and choose when and what surveys and things I want to do, and it is super easy. It doesn t spam you like some other lame sites I tried before. I suggest it to anyone I can. I posted the link below. http://tryvindale.com/VfSRKYD63

How many years of business school should I take? -

I am 18-years-old and I graduate high school in January. I am having a little baby boy in March. I have always dreamed of opening up my own hair salon! I plan to go to college for business and go to hair school. How many years of business school would you suggest? Also, should I go to hair school or business school first? Any advice I would greatly appreciate!

Hello there,I do not like to disagree with your father. He knows you better and no doubt has your best interest in mind. However, if you are set on a hair salon, I would think it best to go to beauty school. After you get your license, you can work to help make money for college. The problem with that is the longer you wait to go to college, the hard it is to go to college. You have more things going on in your life. You have so many distractions, you will have a hard time going back to school. Also, you are older than the other students. All of that makes it very hard to go back later and get a college degree of any kind. Yes, it can be done, but it is harder and less likely you will get it done.Another reason I see your father probably wants you to go to college first, is that with a college degree you have more options available to you in your choice of careers. As a beauty school graduate, you have no other option. You are young. You may well change your mind what you want to do. You may find out that the hair salon business is not really like you dreamed it would be. Without the college degree, you are stuck. Either stick it out even though you do not like it, or start over and go back to college to get a degree. Remember my comments about it being harder to succeed in college the longer you wait. Now you have that tougher task ahead of you.Frankly, you may not need a business degree to operate a business. I am a lawyer who advises many small business owners. Most of them do not have college degrees. By the way, a great many small businesses fail and the owners have to find something else to do when their dream business fails.Maybe, you have been around the hair salon business enough to really know what it is like. Someone close to you may run one and you have already seen first hand what it is like. If not, then you may find your dream job is not what you dreamed it would be.The choice is yours. I do not know the facts of your situation. You know them best. Good luck,

Go to cosmetology school first. The program usually ranges from 9 months to a year, depending on how much time you can put in. Also, with this job you can work right when you graduate, even if your only a temp. If you went for your business degree (4 years), you would still not have your job yet, because then you still need beauty school. At least if you finish cosmo school you will have a job quickly and than can make money for your baby and school.

my advice is go to business school first so that you have your own diploma and you can manage your own salon if you are sure to have your own salon, but it is easy to go to salon/s if you are enrolled in hair school and find a job in any beauty salon out there.

go to hair school first so that you have money to open an beauty salon.

A college degree in Business takes 4 years. If you want an MBA, add another 2-3 years.

Hi tamilnadu people, do you know this business secret ? -

The manufacturing price of a commodity irrespective of whether it is a grocery item, vehicle or anything... will usually be maintained as a great secret by the manufacturers. Well, I come to the point without boring. In our state, the prices at which grocery shops sell thuvaram parupu (used for sambar) and ulundham parupu (uruttu) is at its peak now being sold for Rs.92 and Rs.84 per kg approximately. This is the price in supermarkets and big grocery shops. So obviously, in small shops the price will be even more. What is the reason for the skyrocketing prices ? Before four years we were getting these items for Rs.30 per kg. What is the price at which grocery shop owners receive them ?

try to track it back to its source to find out the real price.may be you can become a business man yourself.

The farmer who grows them did not receive any benefit.Who is benefited. ?? ---- Obviously the middle man

I want to start my own coffee shop business, but I have a lot of questions!? -

1) Do you need a college degree to do start your own local coffee shop?2) How old do you have to be to start it?3) How much could I make a year if I m successful?4) What all do you need to know?

You will not need a college degree, though some business classes may be helpful, you will need to be at least 18 years old to sign contracts legally (such as leasing a space). Knowledge of coffee will probably be good, and you can make rough estimates of what your projected profits would be the first year. You should also look into incorporating or forming an LLC so that you are not personally liable in case the business goes under.

You need to know the answers to all these and more before you think about starting your business. Age, college degree are not what will stop you. What will stop you or make your business a failure is a failure to develop a solid business plan with realistic sales projections, details of the business, funding and financial modeling, hiring, employee handbook, etc. These are just a few to start with. Plan in detail now or fail later. I wish you all the best. Good luck
